Years ago I watched a propaganda video of the history of the Democratic party and why voting with the Republican party was the responsible choice. Politics are interesting.

It's the world we live in.

I remember being confused when during his Presidency Obama had a segment on ESPN where he filled out a tournament bracket. I know presidents have been sports fans, attended, watched and commented on events but I never recall a leader participating in something like this.

I was initially upset that a President would "pander" to the public like this. I now know I was wrong to be upset, but what Obama did at the time was different, new and not a traditional action. Obviously these leaders are people and they use every means available to them to connect with their audience.

Trump is an entertainer who connects with his audience. He's a trailblazer and trend setter (at 71) who's using social media to his advantage.

The homicide rate for 2017 is now 55.8 killings per 100,000 people. The previous record was 55.35 per 100,000 in 2015. The city suffered 344 homicides that year, but had thousands more residents
