13-Year-Old Vermont Gubernatorial Candidate Wants ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban

Thirteen-year-old Vermont gubernatorial candidate Ethan Sonneborn, a Democrat, wants the state to pass a gun control bill, and he wants to be sure an “assault weapons” ban is added to it.
NBC 5 quotes Sonneborn saying, “My generation has been taking an important step in this because we’re the ones were getting shot. This affects us directly and people who say it can’t happen in Vermont, we came this close to it happening in Vermont. It will happen in Vermont if we don’t take action.”


Vermont lawmakers are currently considering a ban on “high capacity” magazines and bump stocks. They are also considering strengthening background checks and increasing the minimum long gun purchase age from 18 to 21. Sonneborn, who does not own a gun, supports all of these controls and wants to add an “assault weapons” ban, as well.

His goal is true “progressive gun reform.”

NBC 5 said Sonneborn believes lawmakers who oppose the new gun controls come from “parts of the state where guns are more prevalent.”

Young kids are being brainwashed in the public school systems, then paying to have their opinions formed for them in colleges. They don't think on their own, they repeat what they are told. These Florida kids are a perfect example.

I agree completely with the brainwashing that goes on in these schools. It's blatantly obvious when you begin to read the articles week in and week out about some teacher cramming their leftist beliefs down the students throats.

In regards to these rallies, I do wonder what percentage of these kids showing up is based more on egotistical social media reasons or simply " at a place to be" rather than anything grounded in principled political beliefs.

Regardless, I still feel pretty good as a whole going forward in the next 10 years or so.

Thomas Sowell and Charles Krauthammer were both avowed leftists growing up and look how they turned out.

Some of the most hardcore Marxists become the most steadfast conservatives once they make the switch.

I know I have certainly become more conservative with age.

There is anecdotal evidence as well. I've reads 100s and 100s of comments on Youtube from former leftys admitting how crazy this all has become and how it has forced them to switch their beliefs as well.
