the US purposely sabotaged the summit . firstly by flying B52s(capable of carrying nukes) towards korea from guam prior to the blue lightning military exercise, and then by bolton saying a lybia style deal was what they had in mind.

gadaffi gave up his nukes, was bombed into oblivion by the west and as a result killed. there's no way bolton would say that other than to try to derail the summit. the last thing the US wants is peace between the 2 koreas. it delegitimises the reasons for having so many troops and hardware based in the region.

Trump cancelled it because he's a lazy moron and a world class pussy.
Kim immediately called his bluff and Trumptard has now painted himself into a corner.

I believe all parties want peace. This is uncharted territory for the US/SK/NK relations.

that's not breaking news. NK announced they were committed to a total denucleariztion of the peninsula weeks ago. but take note of the wording, "peninsula".

the SK/NK deal was for NK to relinquish their nuclear weapons and manufacturing capabilities in return for a lifting of sanctions, a halt in US/SK strategic military exercises and for SK to get rid of the chemicals and hardware they possess that makes them also capable of producing nukes.

since then the US has been making provocative moves and public statements to deliberately derail the deal. if any deal is finally done it is going to be despite the US rather than due to it. very unlikely the US will let any agreement take place though.

Proceeds to tell us how the deal has now been updated & some various ramblings about the US

so it is breaking news...  ???

Trump has made himself both unreliable and increasingly irrelevant.

He unilaterally cancels meetings and backs out of previously negotiated deals

The rest of the world leaders are realising he brings nothing to the table, is not someone they can rely on and is mostly a nuisance and a joke at this point

If a previous deal was a bad deal do you not think it good to renegotiate it?

I have no proof that it was "bad"

According to the head of the CIA and now Secretary of State we have no proof that Iran has  violated the agreement

Does backing out make us more  safe or less safe?

Does backing out help with our credibility in futures negotiations with any country on any subject?

Chuck Schumer had a great analysis of the deal from 2015 I believe, and I tend to agree with him, that it was a bad deal. I'm glad we backed out.

The Paris Climate Accord was terrible for us as well, having us subsidize undeveloped countries which was just essentially a bribe to have them skip fossil fuels. Both deals needed renegotiation. I'm not saying the idea and spirit behind them was flawed, but those deals themselves were bad for USA. If you're a globalist I could see how you could agree with them, but I am not and thus think since they were bad for us, they needed to be redone.

Didn't they blow up their facility?  Do we have any idea how many nukes they have stockpiled?
