There are a few stores here in Vegas that offer tailor made suits for $100 (US) and the second suit for an additional $50. That includes a shirt and a tie. And if you are a 'tuff sale', they'll throw in the hanky.

IRON, When 'flip-flops" were first introduced within the USA ... they were politely referred to as "Jap-Slaps" and were priced at 99 cents a pair.

I noticed yesterday that one pair of those flip-flops will now set you back $12.99 a pair ... and up.

And the fancy leather ones ... even more.

Those really flimsy one called "zorries" are still only a couple bucks.

Last time I wore them I stepped on a rock and got plantar faciaitis and had to get a cortisone shot to fix it.

So I don't get those anymore.

Adding a militay kilt photo similar to the military guys I had the HONOR to meet recently at the Palms Casino here in Vegas.

Not sure about this but I think the attending officers wore red jackets.

Are kilts worn during combat ops?

Stunt, until fairly recently Kilts were made of wool and cost around $400 each. An Indian family living in Scotland eventually got permission to produce authentic tartan from synthetic fibre which is much cheaper so a lot of guys wear them to international Rugby matches. They cost around $60 each. The old fossils that control the tartan authority were appalled by this but they are much lighter and cheaper then the traditional example and they look quite smart. That picture looks like it was taken in Edinburgh, probably Scotland V England rugby match.

Non-Scots can get kilts made with solid colors for when they are in The U. K....You don't want to accidentally match someone's tartan because some tartans mean things.

Same with plaid sport coats...Non-Scots just don't wear plaid.

Also stripped neckties...The stripes on neckties can mean things about the wearer.

In the movie "Clockwise", John Cleeses character opens his bedroom closet and all his neckties are solid colored...This is a joke/easter egg to show that this guy is a total outsider.

As Sync said, kilts are not worn in combat any more but my grandfather and his brothers wore the kilt in combat in WW1 when they were in the Seaforth Highlanders regiment. Nowadays the Scottish army have kilts for ceremonies but in combat they are dressed in more practical garb .

We were oncepulled out of a cobpat mission by the US Army 101st which saved our lives and the 101s was the only unit willing o give it a try.

So as a resuly of getting 'saved' I threw a party for anyone from the 101st (plus my own ubit) and got totally fooked up in the process with platform landing falls and air wings pounded into my chest.

But the interestng thing was that once I nade the rounds to shake hands with my rescuers .... I noticed a good number of guys in strange looking combat gear and was told that they represented various countries which I never realized were with us in Nam.

And then it was explained to me that they were observers only and would have to kill me if they told me. (An old USMC statement.)

So once the word got out a good number of thirsty 'foreign observers' joined us in this celebration and they were definitely welcome.

Then someone brought out a bagpipe and all hell broke loose ... so it was pretty damn easy to figure out where that group of "observers" was from.
