Ford trucks. Eww. Buy American buy Toyota.
Toyota's are good trucks but Ford has mastered the pickup truck.  There is a reason why they have been #1 since the 1970's.

The look the coolest with the streamlined (not boxed) look.  They last a long time and I've never had any major problems with either of the two I owned.  The resale value doesn't matter to me as I'm driving it until it dies.  Ford seems to put their best engineers and quality into their trucks as their cars totally suck.  I would never own a Ford car.  Again, there is a reason why they have been #1 in sales for so long.

So “the best” is what looks subjectively prettier to you. Got it.

Yeah and the F150 has the most recalls of any pickup too.

Lack of competition might be 1 reason.....

People tend to stick with brands for better or worse.. I never understood  that.  If a truck gives problems why trade it in for the same brand. Most Ford owners I know follow that device. Chevy is really putting out some horrendous trucks.. RAM on the other had has come a long way. Just my opinion.

RAM would probably be my second choice.  You could get that Tesla above. Ha, ha.

It's no great mystery.  Guys in America who buy pickups are buy American guys.  I'd guess that Toyota sells more than all US makers combined outside the US.  I'll eat my hat if they don't outsell any individual US company.

Are you ready to eat your hat?

521,000 (2017) sales for the Hilux compared to 571,000 for the ram (2018).  The F150 and Silverado both outsell the Ram.

Doh!

Outside the US?  Excluding sales within the US?  Really?

No one buys American pickup trucks.  What's the source?

Toyota's are good trucks but Ford has mastered the pickup truck.  There is a reason why they have been #1 since the 1970's.

Ford was going to go under when they made the ballsy move to switch to aluminum. Every manufacturer criticized them. Now they are all moving to aluminum.

Ford was going under when they made the ballsy move to come out with a smaller engines like the 2.7L. Now everyone is coming out with smaller engines.

Everyone is trying to compete with the Raptor which everyone knows is the most badass truck there is and the original.

My tundra was the best truck I've owned but common Toyota. 15 mpgs? I moved to Ford when I got more horsepower and 22mpg's

Silverado is a good looking truck...but I love my 2001 F150.  Put some money into it this year for the first time and we'll drive it for another 100k.
