DEMOCRATIC 2020 CANDIDATE ANDREW YANG PROPOSES GIVING CITIZENS $1,000 EACH MONTH BY TAXING AMAZON

Democratic 2020 presidential candidate Andrew Yang on Monday reiterated his proposal to give every American $1,000 in universal basic income each month by taxing tech giants, such as Amazon and Google.

Speaking on MSNBC this morning, Yang discussed the proposal with host Joe Scarborough. “It’s about 1.8 trillion a year past current expenses,” he said, before pointed out that Amazon paid “zero” taxes last year.

Yang added: “Amazon’s sucking up $20 billion in business every year, putting 30 percent of American malls out of business. We need to pass a value-added tax that would get the American people a slice of every Amazon transaction, every Google search, every robot truck mile.”

After taxing big tech companies, citizens will then spend the money they receive in their local communities, which would stimulate the economy and reduce the enormous costs of incarceration and poverty assistance programs, the Democratic candidate explained.

“This is the trickle-up economy, not the trickle-down economy,” he added.

The proposed universal basic income (UBI), which the Yang campaign refers to as “The Freedom Dividend,” will give $1,000 per month, or $12,000 each year, to every American adult over the age of 18.

“This is independent of one’s work status or any other factor,” Yang’s campaign website said. “This would enable all Americans to pay their bills, educate themselves, start businesses, be more creative, stay healthy, relocate for work, spend time with their children, take care of loved ones, and have a real stake in the future.”

The presidential hopeful's campaign projects the UBI could permanently expand the economy by 12.56 to 13.10 percent, the equivalent of $2.5 trillion by 2025, while also growing the labor force by 4.5 million to 4.7 million people within that timeframe.

Good grief.  Where are all these idiots coming from??

I like the way Tim Pool put it concerning Universal Basic Income: What incentive does it give the less motivated 20 year old males to even go out and work?

2 or 3 young guys could pool that money together, rent a small cheap apartment and skateboard or play video games all day every day with zero need to even search for a job.

In 1972 George McGovern promised every American $1,000 a year.
Inflation would make it about $6,000 a year today, so this Yang is ambitious.   ::)

COFFEE SHOP EMPLOYEES FORCED TO CLEAN UP AFTER COUNTER-HOPPING BETO O’ROURKE

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke has fascinated the public with his love of standing on restaurant counters, but little attention has been paid to the unsung heroes of O’Rourke’s campaign — the baristas and bartenders forced to wipe down the counters after the former congressman’s departure.

O’Rourke, who has kicked off his campaign by visiting various small businesses in Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan, has generated jokes and memes about his constant need to address crowds from atop an elevated surface. Politicos and verified Twitter users have opined on the cleanliness — or lack thereof — of O’Rourke’s dirty shoes trampling the same surface used to serve customers.  Can Beto not afford a step stool? It seems there's not a lunch counter in Iowa that's safe from his nasty shoes.

Employees at the coffee shops and bars visited by O’Rourke on the campaign trail did have to wipe down the counters after the candidate’s countertop speeches, according to four people who spoke to The Daily Caller.

Suann Wells, the owner of Beancounter Coffeehouse & Drinkery in Burlington, Iowa, somewhat proudly told the Caller that “he started that here,” referencing O’Rourke’s infamous counter-hopping.

Suann asserted that “of course” an employee cleaned the counter, adding that “in [O’Rourke’s] defense, it was very crowded.”

An unnamed employee who answered the phone at Central Park Coffee in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, similarly said “of course” when asked if the counters were cleaned off after O’Rourke’s visit on Friday but declined to comment further about the politician’s visit.

O’Rourke made another stop in Iowa to the Sing-A-Long Bar and Grill, where he ditched the coffee counter for a spot next to the register by the bar. Annette from Sing-A-Long told the Caller that they offered O’Rourke a step stool to ease his climb to the counter, which an employee later cleaned with sanitizer.

“We brought out a step stool to make sure he was safe,” she explained.

An unnamed employee at Cargo Coffee in Madison, Wisconsin, explained that normally employees at the shop would use “a sanitizer that is still safe for humans to ingest” on dirty countertops, but they took extra steps to ensure cleanliness after O’Rourke’s Sunday visit.

Photos only show O’Rourke standing on a chair at Cargo Coffee, but the employee said O’Rourke stood on the counter as well.

“Yes, we made sure the counter was clean,” she told the Caller. “This time, we used bleach because his feet were on it.”

Interviews with Suann and Annette revealed that O’Rourke does have at least one healthy habit: asking for permission.

“The crowd was so deep that no one could see him,” Suann said. “His staffer asked if he could [get up on the counter].”

Annette said, “He definitely asked for permission.”

Baristas from other establishments told The Daily Beast that they would prefer O’Rourke stay off their counters if he happens to visit, noting the potential sanitary and safety issues.

“I would understand standing on the counter because the crowd was so big, although organizing it would be better. But he’s kneeled down. It seems like a photo op that wasn’t necessary. His feet are right by the cups,” Josh Wilson, owner of Cohesive Coffee in Greenville, South Carolina, said.

Connor Finnegan, who manages a coffee shop in Brooklyn, New York, said he would not allow O’Rourke to stand on his counter.

“He can be heard and seen perfectly well standing on the ground,” Finnegan said.

Seriously, $6M contributed to a guy who will spread wealth to the poor, and he can't even pack a coffee shop!  I'm going to register as a dem, cuz my license is up for renewal b4 the election and I really want to see him win the primary so I can watch the first ever POTUS candidate cry and scream "stop being mean to me!" during a live debate. ;D

A Universal Basic Income of $1,000 a month would be a pay increase for most Getbiggers.  They could use the cash to put new carpet and furniture in their mom's basement.

Most of Bernie's donors are poor people sending very small donations in the hope that he will win the election and give them lots of free stuff.  They are like lotto players spending a few dollars a day on a pipe dream when they could put that money to better use in their own life.

Beto O'Rourke also only accepts contributions from the people, not from PACs, not from special interests, and not from corporations. The same is true for Elizabeth Warren.

My nod comment was in reference to hoping the stupidest candidate solidifies and captures their party's nomination. My initial choice was Gillibrand, but it appears she's got some hefty competition closing the gap of her lead in the form of these two assholes:

This could be a close race.
