So I don't follow this sport, and I'm confused about two things: 1) in the part that I bolded, are you saying he could've ended up with the title if Jones had been dq'ed? 2) Why are they saying he's out of Nebrask City, NE when I looked him up on wiki, and it also says he fights for factor x team which is in CO. Why would someone live in one state, and train in another claiming the other place as where they're fighting out of? Makes no sense to me

I believe on a DQ the title goes vacant, not 100% sure though. I don't know that it's ever happened. The living and training question is simple enough, guys move and train in lots of different gyms.
