If someone is willing to fight and die for my country, they are much braver than me, whether they are man or woman, straight or gay, trans or not.

As long as them transitioning (or if they are already transitioned) does not interfere with their ability to serve and protect others, I really do not care. I could never be drafted or serve in the military due to a medical condition. So, I'd be an asshole if I bemoaned someone who was fit to serve.

I don't know much about medical cost regarding transitioning and coverage. I'd have to look into it.

Gender reassignment surgery is will make a person nondeployable for how long? Months? Isn't that what soldiers are for? It is not like a knee replacement or heart bypass. Something you physically need. If you need gender reassignment then you need counseling. That means you are mentally unstable.
