Ouch! Ribs can hurt like a Mofo especially when you laugh or yawn or some kindly friend doesn't realise and slaps you on the back! Take it easy mate and here's hoping you make a quick recovery.

Yeah, it hurts if I breathe or yawn.

Never hurt my ribs before. Definitely not fun!  :'(

With the impact I took, I am glad I did not hit my head. I would have surely had a concussion or worse.

My first thought while reading your post was that you are kind of young to be taking falls. Being a geezer, I should be the one doing the falling. While my sense of balance is somewhat off, I've been able to 'correct' and thus avoid falls. Sorry about your pain. Hope you heal quickly.

Falls happen all the time, no matter the age. It did not happen randomly. Overwaxed floor. Had nothing to do with my balance being off in the strict sense.

Sign was up, but I thought I could navigate it without falling. But, shit, it was slippery!!

I don't take Aleve often, but it really works well to curb pain when I do. For the past week, I've been having spasms in my upper back. When I remember to take an Aleve, the spasms subside. Writing this reminded me that I hadn't taken one yet today, so I just did. Thanks for the unintentional reminder.

Of course you are correct. My experience has been otherwise. I cannot remember falling when I was younger. In fact, I've only fell twice in the last five years. Both times I stepped backwards off raised surface. The last time it was a low retaining wall in my back yard. I went down on my back like a felled tree and barely missed hitting my head on another part of the retaining wall. As it was, I just ached for a few days.
