Why are the people more affected by it nowadays as opposed to Korea and back further? Is it the type of war we fight, where it’s usually not us at war with a country and the foe is not a traditional soldier?
People just talk about it more. My uncle fought in Korea, was shot and had a few of his friends near him killed. He never talked about it- I hear the story from his wife, my aunt.
My great uncle was boarding a plane during WWII in the Philippines when a bomb placed on board by a saboteur exploded. He was a mess the rest of his life yet still he managed to live a somewhat normal existence
