I still watch fitness videos to get tips and motivation. I watched a several videos on concentric and eccentric contractions recently and in every, single video "eccentric" was pronounced Eeee-sentric. Outside of fitness circles, I've always heard this word pronounced as "x-centric". Everything I've looked up online says that's how it's pronounced and I haven't found anything that says there's a different regional pronunciation or a fitness specific pronunciation. But EVERY fitness video that talks about eccentric contractions pronounces it that way.
Why is this happening? I feel like I'm in the midst of a nervous breakdown.
