also, judges dont want to rock the boat, they know who is "expected" to do well and vote to fit the narrative, they dont want chuicking off the panel and lose all the expenses paid trips.

it is totally the deal.

A. I have noticed it on several different levels (Jay Cutler, Arnold 1980s, Chris Bum, countless other examples)
B. I causally dated a top rated IFBB figure chic and she gave me in the inside scoop too

again - they want a marketable champion/winners.  they need to sell the dream. the Wieders were smart business savvy owners

Or it could mean that if you have a hard limit on how big competitors can get, then everyone is basically playing the conditioning game and under those circumstances, there's only so much similar body types will look different.

I didn't say anything about how much they are taking. I was responding to the poster that said that the first and last place looking so similar proves that all of the contestants came in near their best. If you take any two guys with similar body types and give them a similar weight limit, their bodies will end up looking a lot alike. It might be a better argument for how haphazard and situational judging is.

 Most of these guys could, of course, add size. Some classic competitors dropped size to make that division.

Judging at that level is judged more on social media build up to the show, the judges watch all that and get swept along with it, same thing happened in the Open Olympia, Curry had the momentum and publicity going in, judges dont want to rock the boat

It’s like why even bother, the last place guy is on par with the winner, that’s what happens in a subjective “sport”

Modern fake tans, even with their best applications, look uneven, forced, and awkward. They may even dull natural skin highlights to some degree under lights. Safe technology will come sooner than later to darken( or lighten) skin but this looks silly and is unnecessary.

Schwarzenegger never had an extreme Bumstead-level fake tan but had one of the best skin tones ever.
