the fact that he can get through medicals with one eye just shows how bad the medical satff are, either they totally ignored it or didnt pick up on it, either way they need a shake up.

surely that must be the only way he got past the fight doctors, and still, for it to be so bad he had it removed it must have been pretty fucked up for a while

That may be correct...I recall his eye being...like, vascular.

It looked like a real eye, with veins.

But to have a glass eye now suggests he was likely blind anyway. Why get a glass eye if you have even 25% vision in it?

My uncle had his eye hit with slingshot as a child, and has had a glass eye ever since. I think he was completely blinded in that eye.

Peter Falk [Columbo] had a glass eye. He did an amazing job hiding it, by always looking straight.

Lol! Well...now I can say that for certain.

Pre-injury...I think he was blind or close enough...for the doctors to call for its removal. This would have happened around 1970. Maybe times have changed, and the threshold to remove an eye and replace it with a glass eye is different.

I would have to ask my mom later today.

Just thinking about it...I would not want to have vision in only one eye.

Not sure about other countries, but in Canada, I think you only need better than 20/40 in one eye. Or something like that. But you can definitely legally drive with only one eye - so perhaps people adjust, and it's more like 80% vision than 50% - but you would presumably lose 50% of your peripheral - which in fighting would count for a lot [and ultimately GSP dropped Bisping with an overhand left].
