ICU is heavens waiting room
This article from early 2020 says there's about 100,000 ICU beds in the entire US. That's out of a population of 330 million or 1 bed for every 3300 people. Even if entirely full, that is .3% of the population. And of couse they are not even close to being all full with Covid patients. If even half are though, that is .15% of the population at issue for the ICU beds.
