ZIBALLZ, Thanks but that photo is further down the street. It appears to be the intersection of Flamingo and Koval which is about 50 yards east of the crime scene.

Someone placed those flowers in the wrong spot or else I'm completely mistaken.

Someone once told me that there is a memorial plaque at the spot in which Tupac was killed  ..... On East Flamingo ...  midway between Las Vegas Blvd and Koval Lane.

I walk down Flamingo 3X a week and have yet to see it.

Does any GetBigger know if such a plaque actually exists!?

If it's there ... I'll take a photo and place it here.

Heres the crime scene on Flamingo but I don't recognize the background.

Why are you on Flamingo 3x a week?

LURKER, I'm on Flamingo & Koval 3X a week (approximately) to have a great breakfast, lunch, or dinner at what I believe is the best place in town to have a decent meal at a great price.

It's a small, old time casino for locals called ELLIS ISLAND.

And most locals will agree  that it's the best old time joint in town!

Another reason is that for some unknown reason .... I leave with a bigger bankroll than when I entered playing $5, 3 - 2 blackjack or a few minutes playing one of the Buffalo slot machines ...80% of the time.

And the route from the Strip to the Orleans passes a small, roughhouse, beer and shot joint called The Stage Door where you can get a cold beer and a shot of whatever ya want for a $5 bill.

So, yea, I walk that route frequently and know it well, but apparently I are dumb thinking that I know Tupac's point of departure from this planet .... so I gotta apologize to Ziballz because yesterday's detailed investigation has determined that he is more correct than myself ... and that Tupac was kilt in the vicinity of the Flamingo/Koval cross-streets and not midway up on Flamingo.

This was verified by a couple of homeless black guys who camp out in that vicinity and by the security guard in The Stage Door who is still a big Tupac fan.

But no sign of homage could be found and I just might go and place one there myself without no major ceremony.

I am by no means a rap fan and am totally unfamiliar with Tupac but a good friend who passed away around that same time loved Tupac's 'songs' and his big desire was to be a Tupac bodyguard.

So I guess it's a homage to my good friend also.

AND .... There are usually a group of homeless people at Koval and Flamingo and sometimes (but not often enough) I find that it's a good spot to pass some White Castle burgers around which are dirt cheap ... but filling if you're hungry enough.

I'll have to check that place out next time I am in town.  I always stay at Cosmopolitan on the Strip and whenever I am not on the gig, I like to find places that tourists don't go to.

LURKER, Definitely try STAGE DOOR if you don't mind a tough crowd drinking beer and shots served by good looking ladies.

And definitely Ellis Island for the best Fish and Chips in town  or the Prime Rib in the older coffee shop restaurant or the adjacent bar area.

Stallone was set to play Russell Poole in Rampart Scandal about the Tupac, Biggie murders. Too bad it didn't happen.

Rap and religion are based upon the same principles.   Spread the "message" so that the listeners who are too stupid to know any better will hand over their $$ to be included in the lifestyle.

I like all kinds of music from the big band crooners, rock, jazz, dance and others. I got my hands on the best of Notorious Big and I have to admit it's a master piece of around 17 songs. No wonder the general consensus is that he's the greatest rapper of all time. Getting back to my Sinatra stuff now. Buy that CD though. You won't be disappointed.

A family friend who is a total Rapper-Rat-Fan says that RAP actually started when a group called the Sugarhill Gang sang RAPPER'S DELIGHT back in 1979.

Is there any truth to that statement?

And whenever anyone mentions Sugarhill Gang .... he goes into a long rendition of a song/rap called CHEROKEE and does it well enough to draw  a crowd.

Just say'n!

Yes, the Sugarhill gang started rap.  When they were rising one of the managers of the group was a friend of mine. When rap started dying out before it rose again he got a job offer to become a cop. He left managing the group and became a cop. Sugarhill for many years was hurting. Fast forward to around 2010. There was big nostalgia for early rap in Europe. My friend retired from police work and they asked him to join the team again.  They had sold out venues across Europe and they were doing well in America. One of the founders died suddenly and they asked my friend to go from being one of the managers to on stage.  He must have had a lot women being a green eyed brother on stage. He was living the life but decided to retire from it all.
