A Joe Bucci reference!  I went to Plymouth Whitemarsh high school with Joe back in the 70' s.   He had unreal arms even in high school.   These days there's alot of guys that lift, but back in the mid seventys Very Very few guys were built like that.
His arm building program he used in high school is online.  He did 10 sets of cheat curls Mon, Wed, Fri, and only 5 sets of cheat curls on Tue, Thur and Sat. :o  I got tendonitis in my elbows just reading about it. ;D

Never had decent sized arms but they are strong. I've got awesome shoulder s and neck

Darren Can you repost the magnificent photo of you sitting on your beautiful robust girlfriends lap down the pub for inspiration for those of us struggling with the motivation to train during this chinky flu?

I remember on the first day of wrestling practice Joe walked into the wrestling room to sign up, and the coach (Mr. Suntiemer) looked skyward and said "thank you God"

Did he end up a good wrestler?

A modern day Joe Bucci.

That mother fucker had AMAZING arms. John, he’d be a great interview for your show ( he owned a hotel in Venice didn’t he?)

I don't remember Joe being all that great a wrestler, but I could be wrong ( it was over 45 years ago). He was a very good natured  guy, a genuine good dude from what I remember. There were rumors that his family was ...shall we say... connected, and I'll leave it at that.

Apologies if I hijack the post for a second time...the wrestling coach at Joe and I's high school was legendary....he did shit daily back then that would get him arrested today ( no queer shit..just fucking violent). When the team ran laps around the gym, he ran behind them...and if you were in the back he'd kick you in the ass to make you speed up, then he'd kick the next guy in the ass.  If you lost a match and he thought you weren't trying hard enough  he'd palm slap the side of your head...one thing that he did that I thought was a great character builder was that he never cut a kid off any of his teams, he just worked you so hard that most kids quit and only the strong willed kids made the team.   He scared the shit outta me but I loved the guy

Not impressed. A grown man abusing students. Lucky for him he never came across me. By 8th grade I was doing Karate, benching and squatting. I would have straightened him the fuck out real quick.

that's the way it was in the mid to late 60's some coaches thought it was their duty to abuse you to toughen you up. i had a football coach my freshmen year who like to use me for an example guy weighed like 260 and supposedly was a 400 lb bench presser fairly rare at the time. i weighed in at 140 he would make me stand straight up screamed when i got down in a stance and would get into a 3 point stance fire out and knock me flying 10 or so feet. he did this two times before some kid went home and told their parents, i think the kid was afraid that he might one day be singled out for the tough love. the coach came the next practice and called everybody a bunch of pansies told them i was the only man on the team. the only thing i took away from it was i was mad that nobody else got the tough love treatment. >:(

I would have dropped that coach like a bad habit right in front of the team. Big tough guy picking on children. Until he meets the likes of me.

it was a different era you didn't question authority then. note how he made me stand straight up to take away any chance i had of possibly taking on his rush. i would have relished this.

Who's this guy?

I had 18 3/4 inch arms at my biggest.... Don't miss them tbh

X2

Don't miss waking up 3+ times a night with one of them asleep flopping around the bed.
