it's kind of a shame as those early days with the first kids you're really too busy to enjoy those beautiful times.
I'm hoping to have another in the next couple of years, as I'm more secure (corona willing) with a slower paced lifestyle, so will be able to savour it.
Coming from a huge family, I was always surrounded by kids growing up and raising a couple myself. It's such a special and sacred time in their lives that is so fleeting. I always made it a point to be there for them and spend as much time as I could because I knew it wouldn't last. By the time they get to be about 11 or 12 you fade out of the picture fast and it's all about their friends and peers, but like me, when you get older you remember those who made the extra effort, took the extra time and made them feel that they matter and that they are loved.
