Yup, my wife's recipe calls for carrots, onion and celery plus herbs and spices. When they became available, she'd get a rotisserie chicken from market and used packaged chicken broth. In earlier versions she cooked the chicken and made the broth from scratch which adds considerably to the time involved. Using rotisserie chicken adds something extra to the flavor, IMO.
