The effects of social media on the sexual marketplace will probably result in similar trends in the West to that of Japan, with growing numbers of so-called Herbivore Men and Hikikomori.
The first group has learned to cope without women and has put their energies into other interests, hobbies and their work. The second group is completely demotivated, their moral is crushed, they see no hope, they cannot cope and have given up on life.
Coupled with increases in entertainment technology, there are now a lot more ways to distract oneself.
Of course, people will still be dating and many will be successful with social media and online dating sites. If you are a 'normie', have a job and even workout, this can work well but women's standards, especially the younger ones have gone up.
Though, as I mentioned in another thread, social media has also led to a large increase in freelancers. Prostitution is now no longer limited to bars, brothels and walking the street. Men from anywhere in the world can now contact attractive women, 'fitness models' or whoever on Facebook, Instagram and almost all social media. If they are wealthy, sometimes offering for them to travel with them on luxury trips or if locally offering to take them shopping or simply offer to pay them outright for sex.
Before, a women's circle of friends and choices of partners were mostly limited to the people in her town or city, now it's millions across the world. And of course, the same applies to men which has it's own advantages as well, particularly in meeting women from different countries, which before would have been very difficult, especially in less developed countries.
Some guys also go the PUA route, which despite some of the criticism, it does actually work because it forces a guy to not focus on social media but to physically go out and meet women and people. As opposed to 'it's all over' which will guarantee zero chances of meeting women.
