Meaning that under current law, everyone could not wear a mask, and even those with no legal exemption would have their case dismissed from court, as they cannot be arrested unless the police legally ascertain that they don't have legal mask exemption status, which would be illegal to ascertain without illegally asking.

So under federal law, no one needs to wear a mask, even those who have no legal exemption, and there is no legal mechanism to prosecute anyone who refuses.

And in my case, I happen to have a legal exemption anyway. So I will not be wearing a mask, and just to see these rafts of morons, not even sick [thus incapable of spreading sickness that they DO NOT EVEN HAVE], just makes me roll my eyes in the back of my head.

I feel like I'm surrounded by complete tools.

This is true. Lots of folks don't comply and without a doubt their are businesses that don't as well. In Oregon, liquor stores are state owned and masks are mandated here. This doesn't mean a clerk might let it go if someone entered without a mask. I did this once and got about ten feet inside the store before I realized I had spaced on it. When I said oops forgot the mask, the clerk said it was okay. I was the only customer in the store. I still went back out to the car and grabbed the mask.

Individual state laws vary as well. For example masks are not mandated in Texas and recently in Florida in addition to 14 other states. However, a business still has the right to set rules regarding mask wearing as well as other things. For example, many eating establishments require that shirts and footwear be worn although there is no federal law that requires it. I'm not positive if State or local laws requiring shirt and shoes exist.
