Last month I hired a landscaping company to do some work on my property. The work involved taking down a huge tree, trimming some trees, and moving some large garden accessories. In addition to the two Ford F-250s with big towing attachments for hauling away the downed tree they used a Bobcat to move the large accessories. The work took place over two days. At the end of day one, the boss asked me if he could leave the Bobcat in the back yard overnight. I agreed noting that I would not be responsible if anything went south (theft, damage, etc). They left the Bobcat. On day two they completed the remaining work but the member of their crew who operated the Bobcat did not show up. The boss said that particular worker would return the next day to retrieve the Bobcat. He never did. The Bobcat is still in my backyard. What’s going on here?
At this point I’m guessing the Bobcat operator was just a hired hand and not a permanent employee. This is fairly common in the landscaping business, but who owns this piece of equipment? If it were owned by the company I am fairly certain they would have retrieved it right away. Presumably they need it for other jobs. I doubt it’s rented because they never would have left it here and racked up rental fees if it were. Stolen? I notified that company that if they do not retrieve it by X date I will consider it forfeit and take appropriate action. No reply.
Anyone want to buy a Bobcat?
