The Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Services Centre [TBRHSC] has 22 ICU beds.

We've been gridlocked [= all beds full] more than half the years since 1998.

We had 27 people in ICU during peak Covid.

That's barely above average. Though it was slightly above average. But with all the people having appointments cancelled for cancer screenings and other screenings, the hospital here was empty.

What hospital was overwhelmed, OAK? Do you have any evidence?

Maybe if you listened to Dave D and epic, you would learn something.

Since April of 2020,  Manitoba reduced hospital beds by 442, and ICU beds by 40. Maybe they wouldn't be "overwhelmed" if they hadn't done that - and that was despite getting billions of dollars jn federal transfer payments.

If an ICU only has 22 beds, IT STANDS TO REASON that if 27 people need the ICU, it will be "overwhelmed".

Another, non-hysterical, way to put that would be:

"Pandemic results in need for five additional ICU beds."

In other words = BIG FUCKING DEAL.

No one would have gotten worked up over this madness, and we could have moved on with our lives.

Five beds isn't that big a deal. I mean, we spent a TRILLION DOLLARS - do you think that money, properly allocated, couldn't have recruited doctors and nurses to monitor the paltry increase in ICU beds that were needed?

Speaking during remarks to a J.P. Morgan healthcare conference this week, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla openly stated current vaccines the company developed for Wuhan coronavirus offer "limited, if any" protection against contracting current variants of the disease. He then encouraged booster shots.

These poisons don't do anything, that's why they keep forcing you to take more so they can keep the cash train flowing.

The global population has gone up by 175 million since the pandemic started. I wouldn't think a pandemic is that bad if population increases are at record breaking numbers throughout it.

Not exactly. Plus I'll be in that age bracket eventually, presumably. So I need to think about the future.

We can't just shut everything down to prevent X number of octogenarians from getting a flu. That damages our economy, which prevents us from serving health care to everyone.

Also, cancelling cancer screenings hurts people - and in itself costs lives.

It's all a trade-off, basically. Spending a trillion dollars on a flu was beyond idiotic though.
