1. Anecdotal evidence, which is what you are offering here, is unreliable to the point of being negligible.
2. Compliments/flattery/praise etc can have a wide range of motives: money/pity/leverage...
3. A compliment is not a substitute for a warm wet pussy. A Slayer knows the difference
