I remember seeing that picture (or something quite similar) in my 1974 Guinness Book of World Records, but it wasn’t until many years later that I saw the actual film of his performance. Dude leapt like a gazelle, unreal.

Mike Powel had that magnificent leap in 1991, but it obscured Lewis’ last two jumps, both 29’ or more. Both were amazing that night.

There is only a home shortage for low income people who can't afford to pay their bills anyway.

We have modular homes being built by the millions.

It's just that most of these poor people live in expensive parts of big cities and it's not logistically possible to provide them with cheap housing.

They can't even afford the property taxes.

Held up until 1991 world athletics championships.

Carl Lewis made 8,91m and Mike Powell answered with 8,95m.

9m is around 30’.

If you measure it on the ground it is a fu**ing long way to jump 👍🎺
