it was the distance best suited to the social distancing app in detecting peoples proximity to one another in order to instruct people to self isolate if they came into contact with anyone positive.

Dude says no idea where the 6 foot rules comes from then goes on to explain it was suggested to be 10 feet but the White House said people wouldn't be able to gauge it so they shortened it to 6. And these are the type of people making up the rules to covid?
