This picture is for everyone who hasn't read my posts.... 😂 If you want to grow those glutes, barbell hip thrusts are a must. This info is (slowly) becoming more and more mainstream, and I intend to further it along. Barbell hip thrusts have been the major key to my glute gains. You should know that I've been lifting for over 5 years now- of which the very first year I only did squats upon squats upon squats, since that's what everyone told me to do for my bum, and like an idiot I blindly followed. Well, I wasted a year, and finally ditched squats for hip thrusts after getting really frustrated. From that point on, my glutes have never been the same. Granted, the growth I've attained has taken time, but it is/was still miles ahead of the (nonexistent) results that accompanied squats. I think squats have a time and place for those individuals who are built for them and whose goals require them (powerlifters, people who just want to get better at the skill, and certain variations IMO are killer for quad growth), BUT if the goal is max glute hypertophy, my strong advice would be to stop relying on squats. Sure, do them, but using them as your 'primary' glute building lift is more than likely going to end up extremely disappointing you. ---------
