I spent the last few months studying the Unified Field Theory and advanced math and physics... what do you expect me to dress like

I can understand if you were a professor who dressed like that. But this sounds like you are studying these fields as more of a hobby but trying to dress and act like you have degrees in these fields and/or that you a a professor.

Theirs was not an unusual response to weight loss. Other people become accustomed to seeing you at a certain weight. If you either gain or lose a noticeable amount of weight, it throws their image of you off. In other words, they think you don't look like you. This also factors in for the person who has gained or lost weight... they don't recognize themselves and often revert to their more familiar physique.
