IT WAS ALL PLANNED: Tactical Commander for US Capitol Police Admits Under Oath that “Agitators” Who Were “Highly Trained” Ripped Down Fencing Prior to Protest at US Capitol on Jan. 6

We’ve known for two years numerous federal operatives were involved in the January 6, 2021 protests.

On Sunday night, Julie Kelly from American Greatness, along with several J6 prisoners, conservatives reporters, j6 family members, and even liberal trolls, joined in the “J6 Truth Exposed” Twitter Space hosted by The Gateway Pundit.

You can still listen in to the conversation below.

https://t.co/U9GFBRkD4Y

During the discussion author and investigative reporter Julie Kelly dropped a bomb from J-6 defendant Richard Barnett’s jury trial last week.

Julie discussed new evidence she wrote about in her latest column at American Greatness – Captain Carneysha Mendoza, a tactical commander for U.S. Capitol Police at the time, admitted under oath last week that a group of “agitators” who were “highly trained” destroyed security barriers and lured people to Capitol grounds that day.

This is something we reported on before. Who were the mysterious people who arrived early at the US Capitol and took down all of the fencing and barriers while President Donald Trump was still talking at the Ellipse a mile away?

Julie Kelly reported:

Captain Carneysha Mendoza, a tactical commander for U.S. Capitol Police at the time, testified Wednesday how a group of agitators destroyed security barriers and lured people to Capitol grounds that afternoon:

Defense Counsel Brad Geyer: Isn’t it true that you had a lot of people, a large quantity of people walking down two streets that dead-ended at the Capitol?

Mendoza: Yes, sir.

Geyer: And would it be fair to say that at least at some of the leading edges of that crowd, they contained bad people or provocateurs; is that fair?

Mendoza: It’s fair.

Geyer: Dangerous people?

Mendoza: Yes.

Geyer: Violent people?

Mendoza: Yes.

Geyer: Highly trained violent people?

Mendoza: Yes.

Geyer: Highly trained violent people who work and coordinate together?

Mendoza: Yes

It was a stunning admission, representing the first time a top law enforcement official stated under oath (to my knowledge) that a coordinated, experienced group of agitators engaged in much of the mischief early that day. Under further questioning, Mendoza acknowledged those same individuals “pushed through barriers, removed barriers, threw barriers over the side, removed fencing, and eased the flow of people into places where they shouldn’t be.” This happened around 1:00 p.m., the same time the joint session of Congress convened to debate the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Hiding the pivotal role of still unidentified—and uncharged—agitators on January 6 is just one reason why the government has successfully sought to conceal thousands of hours of footage captured by the Capitol police’s security system before, during, and after the protest.

There is now evidence that dozens of federal operatives were involved in the 2021 January 6 protests on Capitol Hill.

The Gateway Pundit has reported on this for over two years now.

TGP reported evidence of at least 12 incidents involving dozens of federal agents working inside the crowd on January 6.

Two years ago and the rats are still getting caught.   ;D

Imagine sitting around for two years knowing that one day there will be a knock on the door and it is the feds there to "talk" to you.  Two years of stress knowing you could lose your job, your family, your freedom, your voting right and - your guns!!   :D   All these tards claiming no one will ever take their guns and now they are felons and can't own any.   Good times!!

---
Two years later, Missouri man charged in Capitol riot, accused of assaulting officer.

Authorities have arrested a southwest Missouri man on felony charges in connection with the Capitol riot that include assaulting a law enforcement officer.

Kyler Joseph Bard, 26, of Seneca, was arrested in Joplin on Tuesday, court records show. He is charged in federal court with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers and civil disorder, both felonies. The court documents in the case were unsealed on Tuesday.

Bard is the 24th Missouri resident to be charged in a Capitol riot case.

He also faces five other counts — entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a Capitol Building or grounds; and engaging in an act of violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings.

According to the charging document, Bard was walking along a ledge on the Upper West Terrace of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, where officers had formed a police line as a barrier. Body-worn camera footage from the Metropolitan Police Department showed that around 3:30 p.m., a man wearing a white sweatshirt and a red, white and blue winter cap with the words “Trump” and a “45” logo on it could be seen inciting a crowd of rioters.

The man, later identified as Bard, was carrying a megaphone and yelling, “Move! Move! Move! We gotta push! We gotta push! Let’s go! We gotta go! Let’s go!” the document said.

Bard then turned directly to an officer, and as he yelled “Let’s push,” he shoved the officer, identified in the document as “Officer M.G.”

“Officer M.G. repelled Bard’s assault, and Bard fell backwards after continuing to resist and push against Officer M.G.,” the document said. “As Bard fell to the ground, Bard yelled to the crowd of officers, ‘You’re all a bunch of pieces of s---.’”

Bard then got up and went back into the crowd, the document said. A review of a video posted on Twitter showed a man who appeared to be Bard talking on a cellphone outside the Capitol.

“Bard can be heard stating, ‘I’ve already been maced, punched, they took my microphone away, and, uh, when I punched them, they punched me back. Maced me in the face. But it’s what we gotta do. We gotta get inside, we gotta take it over. We gotta do it.’”

Following the insurrection, images of Bard participating in the riot appeared on the internet, the document said. The FBI created a profile of Bard based on the images, giving him the moniker “AFO-447,” according to the document.

The FBI posted those images on its website and on social media, asking for the public’s help in identifying the man, the document said. A confidential source came forward, providing material from the Instagram account of a “kyler_bard” that appeared to show Bard on the Capitol grounds on Jan. 6, it said.

The user of that account had posted a photo of someone appearing to pour water in Bard’s eyes and referenced how he had been “maced and punched for yelling in a megaphone,” the document said.

The FBI contacted Bard at his home, it said, and the agent who interviewed him confirmed that he was the same person as the man in the photos.

“During the interview, Bard admitted to attending the Stop The Steal rally in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021, but informed agents that he did not enter the Capitol and did nothing illegal,” the charging document said.

In the two years since the insurrection, more than 950 people have been arrested in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, according to the Justice Department. Of those, more than 284 individuals have been charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement.

Dishonorable discharge coming up!  And they will be lucky if that is the least they get.  When you are active duty there is no protection of double jeopardy.

3 Active-Duty Marines Who Work in Intelligence Arrested for Alleged Participation in Jan. 6 Riot.

Three Marines were arrested Wednesday for their participation in the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to court documents unsealed Thursday.

Micah Coomer, Joshua Abate, and Dodge Dale Hellonen -- three men identified by investigators as active-duty Marines -- were arrested on four charges each stemming from their participation in the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol in a bid to prevent the certification of Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 presidential election.

The three men are the first active-duty military members to be arrested in connection with the siege since Marine Maj. Christopher Warnagiris, who was taken into custody in May 2021 on nine charges. All three Marines, who were arrested more than two years after the attack, work in jobs connected to the intelligence community.

They were each charged with knowingly entering a restricted building, two counts of disorderly conduct, and parading or picketing inside the U.S. Capitol.

A Marine Corps spokesman confirmed that the service is "aware of an investigation and the allegations" and added the service "is fully cooperating with appropriate authorities in support of the investigation."

According to the complaint filed by federal prosecutors, investigators first learned of the three men when they found photos from inside the Capitol that Coomer had posted on Instagram including "the caption 'Glad to be apart [sic] of history.'" A search warrant was issued for his social media accounts in August 2021.

After officials identified Coomer, they used video and images from inside the building that day to identify Abate and Hellonen as well, according to court documents.

Later, investigators explained that all three men's identities were confirmed by comparing their images in the videos to their driver's licenses, as well as their military identification card photos.

According to court documents, the trio spent just under an hour milling about the Capitol, including the Rotunda, where they put "a red MAGA hat on one of the statues to take photos with it."

In a chat with another Instagram user in the weeks after the siege, the court records say Coomer told an unidentified person "that everything in this country is corrupt. We honestly need a fresh restart. I'm waiting for the boogaloo." When the other person asked what a "boogaloo" was, Coomer said "Civil war 2."

The Boogaloo movement is broadly anti-government in nature but favors violence with the use of the term "boogaloo" typically slang for a future race war. However, some experts, like the Anti-Defamation League, have noted that "most boogalooers are not white supremacists, though one can find white supremacists within the movement."

According to records provided to Military.com by the Marine Corps, all three men have been enlisted in the Marines for more than four years, with Hellonen, who enlisted in August 2017, being the most senior. On paper, the three Marines hold demanding jobs tied to the intelligence community, are stationed at major commands, and have personal commendations and awards to their name. At least one held a significant security clearance. All three had been awarded good conduct medals.

Abate, a sergeant, is assigned to the Marine Corps' Cryptologic Support Battalion at Fort Meade, Maryland -- also home to the National Security Agency headquarters -- as a signals intelligence operator and analyst. Records provided by the Marine Corps show that among his awards was a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, an unusual and prestigious medal for a junior Marine.

Court documents say that Abate admitted to being in the Capitol in a June 2022 interview that was part of his security clearance process.

"During the interview, Abate discussed entering the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 with two 'buddies,'" the documents say, before adding that they "walked around and tried not to get hit with tear gas."

"Abate also admitted he heard how the event was being portrayed negatively and decided that he should not tell anybody about going into the U.S. Capitol Building," the court document said.

Hellonen, a sergeant, is assigned to the 3rd Marine Raider Support Battalion -- a unit that supports Marine Corps Special Operations Command -- also as a signals intelligence operator and analyst. He is stationed at Camp Lejeune, and his warrant shows he was arrested in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Earlier in his career in the Marine Corps, Hellonen was highlighted by the Air Force as a "student of the month" while attending a joint school on an Air Force base.

Coomer, a corporal and the man whose social media posting was credited by investigators as leading them to the trio, is assigned to 1st Radio Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, at Camp Pendleton as a system engineer for intelligence and reconnaissance systems. His arrest warrant shows he was arrested in nearby Oceanside, California.

The careers of the three men stand in contrast to the other enlisted service members who were arrested for allegedly taking part in the riot. Most were lower ranking than the three Marines, and some were struggling to find success in the military. For example, Pfc. Abram Markofski, a Wisconsin National Guardsman who pleaded guilty to charges related to his role in the assault on the Capitol, was removed from Special Forces Selection for failing the Army's physical fitness test.

However, the men are not the only members of the intelligence community to be arrested for their alleged part in the siege. In the summer of 2022, federal authorities arrested Petty Officer 1st Class Hatchet Speed, a sailor assigned to the Naval Warfare Space Field Activity at the National Reconnaissance Office, an agency that says it is responsible for developing, launching and operating America's spy satellites.

The three Marines now join the other nine service members -- active, reserve and National Guard -- who have been arrested for alleged crimes stemming from Jan. 6. Two other men were booted from basic training as their investigations unfolded.

According to the George Washington University's Project on Extremism, out of the 940 defendants charged with crimes stemming from Jan. 6, 118, or 12%, have some form of military background.

The apologies did little to satisfy government prosecutors, however, who portrayed Barnett as fundamentally lacking in civic literacy despite proclaiming himself as a lover of the U.S. Constitution.

CBS News’ Scott MacFarlane relayed the interaction from the courtroom:

“You love the Constitution?” the prosecutor opened. “Love it!” Barnett responded.

“First Amendment?” the prosecutor asked. “Yes,” said Barnett. “Second Amendment?” the prosecutor continued. “Yes,” said Barnett. “Love the Third Amendment?” asked the prosecutor. “Yes,” said Barnett. “What’s the Third Amendment?” the prosecutor pressed. Then, after a pause, Barnett conceded, “I don’t know.”

(The Third Amendment forbids the federal government from using privately owned civilian homes to quarter soldiers without the owners’ consent.)

Pelosi addressed Barnett’s conduct on Jan. 6 in an interview last year, saying he “disrespected the Constitution of the United States” and exhibited behavior he’ll struggle to explain to his children.

In a previous court appearance, Barnett’s lawyer attempted to argue that referring to Pelosi as a “biatch” should earn him kudos, claiming the term is “a slang and less offensive word for ‘bitch.’”

It was bad enough for him.... but invoking the Jews is another briar patch all together.  Dude is so full of hate he can't see straight.  Maybe he should have used that $40,000 he spent on his weapons and junk to get a decent lawyer instead of the freebie public defender.

Jan. 6 defendant convicted on separate weapons charges.

A jury has convicted a Navy reservist from Virginia accused of storming the Capitol on Jan. 6 on separate charges that he illegally possessed silencers disguised to look like innocuous cleaning supplies.

The conviction Wednesday night against Hatchet Speed in U.S. District Court in Alexandria comes a month after a jury failed to reach a verdict in his first trial, resulting in a mistrial.

At the retrial this week, the jury needed only a few hours of deliberation before convicting him on all three counts of unlawfully possessing unregistered silencers.

Speed's case is noteworthy not only because of his alleged participation in the Jan. 6 riot with the far-right Proud Boys group, but also because he espoused antisemitic views in undercover recordings and discussed strategies for eradicating the Jewish population in the U.S.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — A jury has convicted a Navy reservist from Virginia accused of storming the Capitol on Jan.

The case against Speed in Virginia hinged on three devices he bought in March 2021 that the government argued were unregistered silencers. Speed contended the devices are “solvent traps” to collect excess liquid that spills out when a gun is cleaned.

Prosecutors said while the company selling the devices marketed them as solvent traps, they are designed to be easily converted into silencers, which is why people spend more than $300 for them.

The devices bought by Speed are made of titanium and contain baffles that would be found on silencers. They can be screwed onto the threaded barrel of a 9 mm handgun. A firearms expert for the government said it takes about 10 minutes to convert the device into a fully functional silencer by using a hand drill to make a hole in the end for a bullet to pass through.

Prosecutors said Speed obtained the silencers during a post-Capitol riot panic-buying spree in which he spent more than $40,000 on firearms, ammunition and accessories. He bought the solvent traps in March 2021 after learning that the delivery of several silencers he had just purchased would be significantly delayed by paperwork and registration requirements, they said.

Speed's lawyers, though, contended that the devices were indeed solvent traps, not silencers. They said Speed never modified the devices to make them functional as silencers, and that he had no intent to break the law.

The defense urged jurors to ignore Speed's antisemitic philosophy.

“Some of Mr. Speed’s thoughts may be distasteful but his conduct in this case was not criminal,” defense lawyer Courtney Dixon told jurors.

Prosecutors played recordings in which Speed told an undercover FBI employee that he understood the devices' true purpose was as a silencer.

Prosecutors said the law governing silencers covers devices intended for use as a silencer, regardless of whether they are functional or sold under another name.

“The law does not allow that kind of gamesmanship,” prosecutor Thomas Traxler said in closing arguments Wednesday.

In recent years, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has shut down and seized several websites that sold solvent traps, including the one from which Speed purchased his devices.

Speed was taken into custody after Wednesday's verdict and awaits sentencing in April. Each of the three counts contains a potential maximum sentence of 10 years. While Speed is unlikely to receive a maximum sentence, it's likely that the sentence will exceed any term that is imposed on him for his participation in the Jan. 6 attack.

His lawyer, public defender Brooke Rupert, said Hatch intends to appeal the verdict.

Speed is scheduled to go on trial in that case in Washington, D.C., later this year. The case involves five counts, including disorderly conduct in the Capitol and obstructing an official proceeding. His lawyers there have filed a motion seeking to limit evidence to the jury about Speed's ideology.

Speed is among more than 940 people arrested in connection with the riot in which former President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol while Congress was certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.

A Capitol rioter identified by the massive tattoo on his stomach sentenced to 78 months in prison.

A judge has sentenced a Mississippi man to more than six years in prison for assaulting police officers during the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

James McGrew, 40, of Biloxi, Mississippi, was among the rioters to reach the Capitol Rotunda on January 6, according to the criminal complaint the FBI filed.

Police arrested him in May 2021 after identifying him in footage from inside the Capitol when he lifted his shirt to wipe his eyes. The footage revealed a giant tattoo on his stomach that said "KING JAMES." The footage was from a District of Columbia police body camera.

The tattoo corresponded to a 2012 booking record, according to court documents, and led to his eventual arrest.

On Friday, a judge sentenced him to 78 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to assaulting, resisting, or impeding police officers, according to the Department of Justice.

In the video used to prosecute McGrew, he is seen aggressively approaching law-enforcement officers, the FBI criminal complaint said, while yelling statements like, "we're coming in here, whether you like it or not" and "fight with us, not against us."

During the riots, McGrew pushed and struck police officers and launched a wooden handrail with metal brackets toward officers, according to court documents.

On top of the prison term, US District of Columbia Court Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell ordered 36 months of supervised release for McGrew, a $5,000 fine, and $2,000 in restitution.

Since January 6, 2021, authorities have charged 284 individuals with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, according to the Department of Justice.

McGrew's identification as a participant in the Capitol insurrection from his tattoo is among the most bizarre.

In another case, two accused rioters told dating matches that they were involved in storming the Capitol, leading to their eventual arrests. Another rioter's ex-girlfriend had her revenge by handing him into the police,

There is nothing in this report that establishes the coordinated, experienced group of agitators engaged in much of the mischief early that day were federal operatives much less dozens of them. The Proud Boys could be described as a coordinated, experienced group of agitators.

To repeat, Captain Carneysha Mendoza, a tactical commander for U.S. Capitol Police at the time, admitted under oath last week that a group of “agitators” who were “highly trained” destroyed security barriers and lured people to Capitol grounds that day. Nothing in his 'admission under oath' suggest these were federal agents.

"Defense Counsel Brad Geyer: Isn’t it true that you had a lot of people, a large quantity of people walking down two streets that dead-ended at the Capitol?" First off, where's the transcript supporting this? Secondly you had does not necessarily mean they were other Capitol Police. "You had" can mean 'there were'. It could also mean that defense council Brad Geyer, intentionally used this ambiguous term knowing an affirmative reply from Captain Carneysha Mendoza would suggest they were Capitol Police.

According to this report defense counsel Brad Geyer went on to ask Captain Carneysha Mendoza the following:

"Geyer: And would it be fair to say that at least at some of the leading edges of that crowd, they contained bad people or provocateurs; is that fair?

Mendoza: It’s fair.

Geyer: Dangerous people?

Mendoza: Yes.

Geyer: Violent people?

Mendoza: Yes.

Geyer: Highly trained violent people?

Mendoza: Yes.

Geyer: Highly trained violent people who work and coordinate together?

Mendoza: Yes"

Again, there is nothing in this interchange saying these folks were Capitol Police.

I reluctantly listened to the “J6 Truth Exposed” Twitter program. First off, there is no legal requirement for any of the people speaking on this recording to tell the truth.

The bottom line is that what possible reason could there be for Federal Operatives to instigate the January 6th attack on the Capitol?

Seriously? What reason did the government have for allowing antifa/blm destroy city blocks including government buildings and not prosecute hardly anyone? It's all about manipulation and control.

So let me get this straight. The government fucked up with the BLM and Antifa riots so to make up for this they orchestrated an attack on the Capital? Who is the government seeking to manipulate and gain control over?

Before you say this is an example of democrats verses republicans, consider the numbers which show that Congress is about equal with Republicans having a slight edge. The Senate is evenly split, and the house has a very narrow Republican majority.

There is a difference between the BLM riots and the attack on the Capitol. What happened on January 6th at the Capitol threated to upend Democracy and the Constitution while BLM vandalized government buildings and threated to defund the police. Their primary issue was with the police.

In the general population as of December 17, 2020, Gallup polling found that 31% of Americans identified as Democrats, 25% identified as Republican, and 41% as Independent. For some reason the number of Republicans registered to vote decreased recently.

The percentage of voters registered with the Democratic Party increased from 45.1% to 46.3%. The percentage of voters registered with the Republican Party decreased from 27.1% to 24.0%.

Hmm, wonder if this has anything to do with Trump discouraging folks from voting. Donald Trump urged his supporters not to vote in the two upcoming elections if the Republican Party does not “solve” the supposed voter fraud. Way to go Trump! Less Republicans voting will result in more Democratic candidates winning elections.

I get it. Democrats have a strong edge over republicans in California. California is not the U.S. There are some Americans who think or at least say California should fall into the ocean because Californians are crazy and immoral. LOL!

4 more Oath Keepers convicted of seditious conspiracy.

Three members of the Oath Keepers and a fourth person associated with the far-right militia group were convicted of seditious conspiracy by a Washington, DC, jury on Monday for their role in the January 6, 2021, insurrection.

The four men – Roberto Minuta, Joseph Hackett, David Moerschel and Edward Vallejo – were accused of plotting to stop the certification of Joe Biden’s 2020 electoral college victory, a conspiracy that culminated in the attack on the US Capitol.

The convictions are another win for the Justice Department who brought the rare charge against members of the far-right militia early last year. After a 10-week trial this fall, Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes as well as Kelly Meggs, a leader of the group in Florida, were the first of the group to be found guilty of seditious conspiracy.

A sentencing date was not set, but all four defendants will be placed on house arrest until they are sentenced, Judge Amit Mehta said Monday. They cannot have firearms in their house, and all four will have limitations on their phone communications and internet use.

The defendants on trial in the case were Minuta, an Oath Keeper from New Jersey who prosecutors described as one of Rhodes’ “most trusted men”; Hackett, an alleged recruiter for the Florida Oath Keeper who prosecutors said is talented at hiding his identity; Moerschel, an alleged part of the so-called stack formation that prosecutors said acted as a “battering ram,” pushing through the mob and into the Capitol; and Vallejo, one of the alleged leaders of the armed quick reaction force, who prosecutors said called for “guerilla war” the morning of January 6.

In addition to the seditious conspiracy charges, Minuta, Hackett, Moerschel and Vallejo were also found guilty of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an official proceeding and aiding and abetting, as well as conspiracy to prevent a member of Congress from discharging their official duties.

Hackett was found guilty of tampering with documents or proceedings.

Hackett and Moerschel were found not guilty of destruction of government property. Minuta and Moerschel were found not guilty of tampering with documents or proceedings.

Jury deliberations in the case began last week, after prosecutor Louis Manzo, during his closing arguments, walked the jury through weeks of trial testimony and told the jurors to ignore defense attorneys’ arguments that the four men are innocent because they were merely following Rhodes.

In their own closing arguments, defense attorneys for the four men argued that their clients had not conspired together to stop a Biden presidency, saying that the government’s case presented no proof of a plan to storm the US Capitol. The attorneys also repeatedly argued that not only was the government manipulating evidence but that there was no proof of a conspiracy between the group, saying that while the jury might find statements from their clients offensive, that wasn’t reason to convict them of plotting to stop the certification of the election.

Louisville man sentenced over role in 2021 US Capitol insurrection.

A Louisville man will spend just over a year behind bars for his role in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to a release from the FBI.

Roger Kent Baugh, who pleaded guilty in October 2021 to charges of interfering with law enforcement officers during a civil disorder, was sentenced Tuesday to 12 months and one day in prison, along with 24 months of supervised release and a $2,000 restitution penalty, the FBI statement said. His sentencing ruling came from U.S. District Court Judge James E. Boasberg.

Baugh, the FBI said, illegally entered the Capitol grounds on the day of the riot in Washington, D.C., alongside Mark Mazza, a friend from Shelbyville, Indiana who was armed with a gun. The bureau's release said Baugh, 51, entered a tunnel leading to the Capitol Building at one point and "assisted other rioters who were pushing against the officers," applying physical pressure on Capitol Police officers to get them out of the way.

Baugh returned for a second effort after retreating, the FBI release said, before leaving the tunnel at about 3:18 p.m., nearly 30 minutes after he had initially moved up a staircase to the West Front Terrace.

Baugh later lied about entering the tunnel area in separate interviews with the FBI and with the Assistant U.S. Attorney and Capitol Police, according to the release.

Mazza also pleaded guilty to assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers with a dangerous weapon and carrying a pistol without a license, according to the FBI, and was sentenced last October to 60 months in prison.

Baugh and Mazza are among more that 950 people who have been arrested over the Jan. 6 riot, which took place in the immediate aftermath of former President Donald Trump's "Stop the Steal" rally. Many attendees of that rally, held to protest the results of the 2020 presidential race, later attempted to disrupt Congress as its members met to certify the results of the election.

At least 20 Kentucky residents have been charged over the insurrection, as well as a West Virginia resident who was attending the University of Kentucky at the time.

Sarasota Oath Keeper convicted Monday of seditious conspiracy for Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

A Sarasota man was one of four Oath Keepers found guilty Monday for his actions tied to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack aimed at stopping the peaceful transfer of presidential power to President Joe Biden.

Joseph Hackett, 52, was convicted of seditious conspiracy and four other charges in a trial against members of the right-wing militia group, according to reporting by USA Today.

Hackett was found guilty of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstructing an official proceeding, conspiracy to prevent members of Congress from discharging their official duties and destruction of evidence, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release...

Seditious conspiracy occurs when a group of people conspire to "overthrow, put down or to destroy by force" the U.S. government or bring war against it, or plot to use force to oppose the authority of the government or to block the execution of a law.

Four of the five charges carry a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, according to the news release. The charges also carry potential financial penalties.

U.S. District Court Judge Amit Mehta is expected to schedule a sentencing hearing at a later date, the news release stated.

"Today’s verdict is an important step in our continued efforts to hold criminally accountable those involved in the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a news release. “We will continue to investigate those who sought to undermine the workings of American democracy and we will work closely with federal prosecutors to ensure justice is served.”

Monday's verdict follows the November 2022 seditious conspiracy conviction of Oath Keepers leader Elmer Stewart Rhodes III and another member of the group.

According to earlier reporting by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Hackett was among a group of Oath Keepers who was dressed in paramilitary gear and breached the Capitol in a "stack" formation. Hackett, a chiropractor, was believed by federal authorities to have been involved in planning the operation, according to previous reporting.

During the six-week trial, prosecutors argued that the four Oath Keepers, along with others, planned and coordinated to travel to Washington D.C. to storm the Capitol and stop the certification of the 2020 election results, according to the news release.

Defense attorneys for the Oath Keepers argued the government "cherry-picked" evidence to make the defendants look as guilty as possible, according to the USA Today article.

When the indictment for Hackett was released in January 2022, the Herald-Tribune reported Hackett had participated in an online meeting convened by Rhodes on Nov. 9, 2020. Following that meeting, Hackett and other Florida Oath Keepers trained on "unconventional warfare."

The indictment also stated that Hackett was among a group of members in early January 2021 who transported weapons and other items to Washington D.C., according to previous Herald-Tribune reporting.

Hackett was arrested in June 2021 and charged with conspiracy, obstruction of an official proceeding, aiding and abetting, destruction of government property, and illegally entering a restricted building or grounds.

Jury convicts man who propped his feet on desk in Pelosi's office on Jan. 6.

An Arkansas man who famously was photographed putting his feet up on a desk inside then-U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office during the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol was convicted on eight counts by a Washington jury on Monday, the Justice Department said.

The guilty verdict against Richard "Bigo" Barnett came just a few days after he took the stand in his own defense - a risky move that has sometimes backfired for other defendants charged in connection with the Capitol riot.

Barnett, 62, of Gravette, Ark., was among one of the earliest people to be arrested after supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol in a failed bid to block Congress from certifying Joe Biden's election victory.

A photo of him with his feet propped up on a desk in Pelosi's office went viral in the days following the attack.

In a media interview after the attack, he was quoted as saying: "I put a quarter on her desk even though she ain’t fucking worth it. And I left her a note on her desk that says 'Nancy, Bigo was here, you Bitch.'"

He also took an envelope from the desk that was addressed to another member of Congress and digitally signed by Pelosi.

The jury convicted Barnett of eight crimes, including theft of government property and obstructing an official proceeding. Obstruction of an official proceeding can carry up to 20 years in prison.

In his testimony, Barnett acknowledged he behaved badly, but insisted he did not understand that Congress was certifying the electoral votes, and he claimed he did not realize he was in a restricted area, the Wall Street Journal reported.

In explaining the famous photograph, he told the jury: “That’s how I sit at my desk at home,” the newspaper reported.

Mississippi Coast man sentenced for attacking multiple police officers in US Capitol riot.

A Mississippi Coast man was sentenced to more than six year sin prison for assaulting law enforcement during the U.S. Capitol riots on January 6, 2021, according to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C.

James McGrew, of Biloxi, took part in the breach of the Capitol and “engaged in a series of confrontations with law enforcement officers,” court documents say.

The 40-year-old “was part of a crowd that overwhelmed law enforcement officers attempting to prevent rioters from advancing further on the restricted grounds,” according to the press release. “He proceeded to an area outside the Upper West Terrace doors to the Capitol Building. He shot video of the scene, shouting ‘let’s go’ approximately 14 times, and ‘we took this thing.’”

Once inside at 2:45 p.m., McGrew — who also briefly lived in California — moved to the Rotunda where he pushed one officer and struck another as law enforcement tried to clear rioters out of Capitol building, court documents say.

Two minutes after that, the press release says, McGrew struck another officer and lunged for his baton.

McGrew and others were forced out of the building at 3:22 p.m., but he then joined others in an attack as officers attempted to clear the Lower West Terrance tunnel entrance to the Capitol.

Less than hour later, McGrew threw a wooden handrail with metal brackets attached down the tunnel, striking an officer. McGrew and the other rioters gained access to the tunnel after pushing through more officers, but they were pushed out by 4:20 p.m., according to the release.

McGrew was arrested in Arizona on May 21, 2021, and he pleaded guilty to assaulting, resisting or impending officers on May 13, 2022.

In addition to his prison sentence, U.S. District Court Judge Beryl A. Howell ordered 36 months of supervised release, a $5,000 fine and $2,000 in restitution.

McGrew was arrested on May 28, 2021, in Glendale, Arizona.

Capitol rioter who yelled threats toward Pelosi convicted of felony, misdemeanor charges.

A woman who yelled threats directed at former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as she and others stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was found guilty Tuesday of multiple charges related to her actions that day.

A release from the U.S. attorney’s office for the District of Columbia states that Pauline Bauer, a 55-year-old resident of Kane, Pa., was convicted of nearly half a dozen charges for her role in the insurrection, including obstruction of an official proceeding, entering and remaining in a restricted building, and disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building.

U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden also found her guilty of disorderly and disruptive conduct in any of the Capitol buildings with intent to impede, disrupt and disturb a session of Congress and parading, demonstrating and picketing in a Capitol building.

Evidence from the U.S. attorney’s office shows Bauer illegally entered the Capitol and said just before 3 p.m. on Jan. 6 “words to the effect of ‘This is where we find Nancy Pelosi,’” according to the release.

She was about 30 feet from the Speaker’s office when she said, “Bring that f—— b—- out here now. Bring her out. Bring her out here. We’re coming in if you don’t bring her out here.”

Bauer also pushed a Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police officer and yelled expletives and “You back up. Don’t even try” when he tried to get her to leave an area of the Capitol that he was guarding.

Officers later removed Bauer from the Capitol Rotunda.

She was later arrested in May 2021 in Pennsylvania.

She could face up to 20 years in prison and financial penalties for the obstruction of an official proceeding charge, which is a felony. The other charges, which are misdemeanors, carry a maximum of three years imprisonment in total and financial penalties.

Her sentencing is scheduled for May 1.

The release states that more than 950 people have been arrested in almost all 50 states for crimes related to the Capitol insurrection, and more than 280 people have been charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement.

Jurupa man who joined U.S. Capitol riot sentenced.

A 45-year-old man who was among seven people from Riverside County charged in the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol was sentenced on Monday to 18 months in federal prison.

Andrew Alan Hernandez of Jurupa Valley in September pleaded guilty to a charge of aiding and abetting in the obstruction of an official proceeding.

Hernandez admitted the felony count under a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which agreed to drop five related charges in exchange for the admission.

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly in Washington, D.C. certified the terms of the bargain and additionally ordered the defendant to spend 36 months on supervised release following his incarceration, as well as to pay $2,000 in restitution to the government.

Security surveillance camera images of Hernandez inside the Capitol Building on the day of the insurrection showed him carrying an American flag with a Go-Pro camera zip-tied to the pole.

The pictures, collected by the FBI and included in the indictment against the defendant, revealed he had entered the building via the East Rotunda Door, which was forced open, then milled about with others who had breached the Capitol.

He posted a social media message prior to joining the protest outside the Capitol that day, saying, “They are trying to steal the vote and will perfect and protect their fraudulent voting system when in power.”

Hernandez proceeded to the Senate Gallery, snapped a few selfies and exited the edifice 15 minutes later, according to prosecutors.

The defendant, like the other six Riverside County men charged with disrupting the Electoral College vote certification, was not accused of engaging in any act of violence against law enforcement officers during the breach.

He was the third defendant from Riverside County to enter a plea agreement with the government.

Jefferson man pleads guilty to role in Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

A Jefferson man pleaded guilty Thursday to breaking into the U.S. Capital on Jan. 6, 2021.

Court records show Joshua Colgan, 35, pleaded guilty, under a plea deal with prosecutors, to parading, demonstrating or picketing a Capitol building. Three other charges — entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building — were dismissed as part of the deal.

Colgan is expected to be sentenced in April. The misdemeanor charge carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $5,000.

As part of the plea deal, Colgan agreed to allow law enforcement agents to review his social media accounts for statements and postings around Jan. 6, 2021, and to conduct an interview with him prior to sentencing.

The FBI arrested Colgan on May 2, 2022, and charged him with four criminal counts in connection with the Jan. 6 insurrection. He initially pleaded not guilty.

Colgan admitted he drove from Lincoln County to Washington, D.C., on Jan. 5, 2021, and the next day listened to President Trump's speech from the Washington Monument, according to court records. He then marched to the U.S. Capitol Building and entered at approximately 3:22 p.m. through the Senate Wing Door. He exited through the same door nine minutes later.

A criminal complaint filed by the FBI includes images taken from security footage and third parties that appear to show Colgan inside the Capitol Building on Jan. 6 after security at the building was breached and throngs of people swarmed inside. Colgan was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and a blue "TRUMP" baseball cap with white, red and yellow lettering.

It also includes a post from Colgan's Facebook page dated Jan. 5, 2021.

"Today is the start of the chaos, the start of a revolution, the end of a chapter, (UI) states several million Brothers and Sisters united at our nation's capitol to over throw this corrupt government and to form a new brotherhood of Patriots that will be permanently carved into our history books to never be forgotten," the post reads. "We love our president Donald Trump, his family, everything he's done for us since day one even while being slandered, cheated and pourded (sic) on. His continuous fight for his people to ensure their future has not stopped, its time we return the favor."

According to that Facebook page, Colgan grew up in Jefferson, lived elsewhere for a time and then moved back in June 2021 where he ran his business, Bunker Hill Floor Sanding and Refinishing.

Colgan was one of five men with ties to Maine charged in connection with the insurrection.

Kyle Fitzsimons, 37, of Lebanon, was found guilty of 11 charges. Glen Mitchell Simon, 30, a former Minot resident who moved to Georgia, was sentenced to eight months in prison after pleading guilty to his role in the riot. Nicholas Hendrix, 35, of Gorham, pleaded guilty in 2022 to participating in the attack and was sentenced to 30 days in prison. Todd Tilley, 61, of South Paris, was charged with four criminal counts for his participation.

An Edgewater man is facing up to five years in federal prison after pleading guilty Thursday to his actions during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, including making contact with a police officer, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Howard Adams, 62, entered the guilty plea in the District of Columbia to interfering with law enforcement officers during a civil disorder, a felony. U.S. District Court Judge Beryl A. Howell set sentencing for March 31, according to the release.

Another Volusia County man, Joseph Biggs, a Volusia County Proud Boys leader, is currently on trial in Washington, D.C., federal court on charges related to the U.S. Capitol riot.

After Adams proceeded across the East Plaza to the East Rotunda doorway, a group of people unlawfully pushed away police officers and entered the building, the release stated. Adams followed and proceeded to the Rotunda and through Statuary Hall, according to the release.

Adams then went to the House Chamber door after others pushed aside police officers, the release continued. Adams and others then amassed outside the House Chamber doorway for several minutes chanting, “Break it down!” and “Stop the steal!” the release stated.

But the  group was unable to open the door, according to the release.

Several minutes later, Adams returned to the Rotunda and encountered law enforcement officers clearing the room, the release stated.

Adams intentionally walked toward the officers instead of going toward the exit opposite the police, according to the release.

Adams unfurled and raised a flag while raising both hands as he did so, the release stated.

Adams then made physical contact with one of the officers as the officer tried to push Adams in the opposite direction toward the exit; the officer sprayed Adams with a chemical irritant, according to the release.

Jan. 6 riots:Florida still has the most people facing January 6 insurrection charges. It’s not even close.

Capitol riot arrests: See who's been charged across the U.S.

Meanwhile, several others were behind Adams surging toward the police line, the release stated.

Adams eventually left the building through the East Rotunda doorway at approximately 3:15 p.m., the release stated.

Adams was arrested on March 10, 2021, in Edgewater, the release stated.

Since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 950 individuals have been arrested in nearly every state for crimes related to Jan. 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol, according to the release. That includes more than 284 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, the release stated.

MAGA Anesthesiologist Hit With Jan. 6 Charges After Ex-Pal Turns Him In.

A board-certified cardiothoracic anesthesiologist from Southern California is facing federal charges over his alleged participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot in support of ex-President Donald Trump.

Austin Brendlen Harris, an M.D. who runs a ketamine infusion clinic in Sherman Oaks, was captured on surveillance video inside the building, comparing Capitol police officers to Nazis, according to a federal complaint unsealed Thursday.

Harris, who was wearing a “Lions Not Sheep” cap during the attempted insurrection, was turned in by a “former friend” who spotted a Facebook post of Harris at the scene and reported it to the FBI.

The complaint says Harris shared video on the social media platform that showed him “kneeling beside the woman shot inside,” presumably referring to Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, who was shot by a Capitol Police lieutenant trying to stop the mob from breaching a door leading to the lobby of the House of Representatives chamber.

“Thank you all for your concern,” Harris wrote in a follow-up post, which was submitted to the FBI by a second tipster. In it, Harris falsely claimed the violent siege was in fact a “false flag event” carried out by “Antifa dressed up like Trump supporters,” with a goal to bring about “even more oppression of conservatives.”

“I am safe here in DC,” continued Harris, who in 2021 was disciplined by state medical authorities for multiple DUIs and erratic behavior at work.

“Was treating trauma patients at the capitol building.”

Harris also used Parler, the right-wing messaging app, to discuss his plans for Jan. 6, according to the complaint. In one message posted under Harris’ handle, @ARealLifeDoctor, he asked for hotel recommendations, prosecutors say.

“Does anyone know which hotels in DC the Trump supporters will be staying at for the DC rally Jan 6th?” he wrote. “I want to be with the MAGA crowd, not accidentally mixed in with the ‘wrong’ protesters [wink emoji].”

More than 50 percent of the Jan. 6 crowd was made up of white-collar workers, according to one analysis. Harris is the first known anesthesiologist to face charges connected to the riot, but was joined by at least two other M.D.s at the Capitol that day. At least two chiropractors have also been among those picked up on allegations they stormed the Capitol.

Harris does not yet have an attorney listed in court records, and was unable to be reached for comment on Thursday.

7 years.  Good times!!

Don't try that remorse shit now.  Little bit too late for that at this point.  If you had half a brain, you would have kept your ass at home where it would still be and not sitting in jail.

January 6 Rioter Who Pepper-Sprayed Officer Brian Sicknick Gets Seven-Year Prison Sentence.

A Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol rioter who attacked police officers with pepper spray, including one who died the next day, was sentenced to more than six years in prison Friday.

Julian Khater, 33, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Thomas Hogan to serve six years and eight months in prison. His co-defendant, George Tanios, was sentenced Friday to time served over two misdemeanor charges related to his involvement in the attack.

Both men were arrested last March for their roles in the attack that left several people dead and hundreds of officers injured. Khater, a Pennsylvania resident, assaulted several officers with pepper spray, including Officer Brian Sicknick, who died a day later after two strokes.

A man who pepper-sprayed police officer Brian Sicknick during the January 6 Capitol riot was sentenced Friday to almost seven years in prison.

“I don’t know what got into you,” federal judge Thomas Hogan said as he handed down the punishment of 80 months’ imprisonment to protester Julian Khater. “Somehow you got determined to push your way through the crowd.” The judge also fined Khater $10,000.

Khater pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting law enforcement with a dangerous weapon. He admitted to spraying Sicknick, who died later of natural causes, as well as U.S. Capitol Police officer Caroline Edwards, with pepper spray. Sicknick endured strokes after standing patrol during the January 6 riot. A medical examiner concluded that Sicknick experienced “acute brainstem and cerebellar infarcts due to acute basilar artery thrombosis.” Ultimately, the pepper-spraying was not determined to be the direct cause of Sicknick’s death.
