Over the last 2-3 years since the arrival of COVID, I've known of 1 person that died of it. He was a neighbor/family friend. But the guy also had lung cancer from being a lifetime (38+ year) smoker. He was already in his late 50's and also loved alcohol. He was in good physical shape, but once he got hit with COVID his breathing became worse and then he developed pneumonia and died from complications.
So, he didn't die of COVID per say, but it did exacerbate things to where he wasn't coming back from the complications that developed thereafter. COVID that resulted in pneumonia, in someone that already had end stage lung cancer and yeah, he died.
