Disagree respectfully.

Late 90s / early 2000s the writing was awesome - funnier than any show.

In addition, the shit these guys do in the ring now is absolutely nuts, so there's also that.

And now they embrace the fact that it's known to be scripted, and that makes it even better.

Haha that era was fucking hilarious

Im older, my favorite era was the 70's. Very basic, no Ads, no sparks and fire, nothing.
Bruno vs. Larry on TV (the blading / turncoat incident) which in turn they then took that feud on the road for cage matches, which sold out everywhere.

Valiant Brothers, Wild Samoans, having the territories, etc. (Plus as a kid the stuff was more "believable" for lack of a better word). No kayfabe yet...

At 3:20 you see Bruno reach into his trunks for teh blade, then Larry comes in w/ chair, you can see him blading after the head shots...
Then he tucks it away at 3:50...

"The ref doesn't see the chainsaw Vince"!!!

Then went to sellout Shea Stadium and other events... (Cage match).

Larry lived off ending Bruno's career for the rest of his. Great gimmick.

Russo has created nothing worthwhile bro and destroyed everything he touched, bro. Every couple of months, bro, he will revisit a failed idea and then refer to something successful and say that was the direction they were headed bro, until creative was pulled from him.

At least Vinny’s Mac created the WWE and could recognize stars.

Also good for him, let him destroy the Fed, he owns it. This is like watching a real life Succession.

Ever listen to Eric Bischoffs  assesment of Russo? Fckin brutal and hilarious. Russo must have been on suicide watch after that one LOL. Absolutely worth a listen.

Yeah, Russo is a piece of shit. Listen to some Jim Cornette interviews and hear what he thinks of Russo. He calls him "shit stain." ;D

Even better, listen to Eric Bischoff's complete and utter burial of him with Sigmund Freud like detail. Hilarious. Calls him a 'fragile little basket case' and 'nothing under the hood'.

To me this is the best period, late 80s. Flair coming out every week and killing it:

Ric Flair - Golden Spoon

Best thing on TV in the 80's. Two hours every Saturday night with an hour on Sunday. Then there was 3 hours of WWF on USA network every Monday night. Add AWA and World Class on ESPN along with Saturday Night's Main Event (WWF) once a month and I received a great education as a child. ;D
