There is NO solution anyone who tells you otherwise is a lair. Back in the 1930s you could walk into any gun shop and gun FULL AUTOMATIC rifles and pistols with no background check or license , you could buy short barreled rifles without the King's permission and yet not one school shooting or mass civilian shooting. Why?  What's changed? people had access to more lethal weapons and no mass shooting events. When I was a kid you could bring your rifles to school and people would leave them in their trucks and go hunting after school , no school shootings. Why? What changed?

I completely side with OAK here. If guns are made harder to acquire there will be less school/mass shootings. That is my opinion, everyone else has opinions and I respect that. If the chocolate bar is on the front of the counter its easy to reach, but if its behind the counter and you need multiple tests to pass to acquire it, well, its harder to get and theres less on the streets

And people who get guns to go out and shoot a thousand rounds of ammo (or however many you shoot) to get their rocks off and say look at how cool I am with my guns are plain retarded.
