Again, you assume Haney would have been the same size as he was in 1991.

Unless my memory is foggy, the ESPN video that I had of the 1991 Olympia had Haney at 241 and Yates at 239, approximately the same size. Haney certainly doesn't look ten pounds bigger than Yates in those pics.

If Yates can put on more size at 28, why couldn't Haney have done the same at 31? Look at Ronnie Coleman. If you saw him in the early 90s, you would have NEVER thought he'd blow up to how he looked in the late 90s or early 2000s (especially 2003).

Haney had been a pro for 8 or 9 years already. Yates was just starting out. Look at him in 94.

Interesting comparison.  I’ll counter and say that Flex wheeler was a couple inches shorter and is leaning forward here, I think the comparison would have been less favorable for flex if they were standing next to each other

The large frames of Haney, Yates, Coleman is what really solidifies their position as better than the rest.    It’s one thing to look good standing by oneself but being dwarfed by another competitor of similar quality relegates you to a lower tier.
