Speaking of Deadlifts,I have just watched a video of Hulkatron deadlifting 335 with ease, in perfect form, and he had plenty left in the tank..........so Hanky,your mission if you choose not to chicken out, is to do  335 pounds with a straight Olympic bar in good form for 12 reps as you stated you could do with Hulkatrons max deadlift.

If Hulk used straps, I would bet he could do a good 355-360 or somewhere there abouts.

I saw this video, one deadlift session with chaos and Hulk could be close to 405. 8)

it just makes sense to me that once your arms are over your head the entire shoulder girdle is under a lot of tension and bio-mechanically its not useful thats not a bad thought process. You could use the same thought process on dips.  should the arm go that far back in extension?  Is it safe?  that could be argued.

Are you saying press behind neck doesnt cause problems? if someone doesn't have good shoulder / thoracic mobility, its not something that should be done.  I see so many do the BTN press wrong...jutting their head forward...elbows rotated back...etc
Thats just a few degrees different than a normal press.

I don't think presses are a bad thing.  I look at it no different that those people who go out golfing and don't do anything to warm up their low back, hamstrings, and shoulders.  Then feel like shit afterwards.  Was it the golfing or the fact that they didn't prep their body for the activity.

Krank I'm by no stretch of the imagination capable of discussing this on your level, so rather that appear foolish might I respectfully suggest to both parties that perhaps there a little bit of semantics going on and a little bit of apples vs oranges.

What I mean by that is the following. To use the specific term as it was used humans weren't 'designed' at all. We evolved as did all life on this planet. Started in one place / set of attributes, that changed slowly over millions of years as environmental factors would see minor random changes offering just enough of an advantage that that became the more favourable sub species to prevail. I would say the same thing.  We weren't 'designed' to do a lot of what human beings do.  Squat over 1000#, sit in frotn of a computer for 10hrs a day, run 100mile marathons, etc

As such whilst humans may indeed be able to perform a variety of functions/movements, someof that is happenstance and there are (hypothetically) tweaks to the existing bone structure/layout etc that would make as more ideally suited some particular task than we currently are but it by no means rules it out as being possible to perform  safely and productively. I do think that some people are better suited for certain activities and tasks. 

Similarly as has been brought up there's a discrepancy in terminology in terms of scientific agreed upon descriptive terms in contrast to colloquially used terms. When there is an accepted term for something and then someone decides they don't like that term...thats where the problem comes in. 

Since I made a passing reference to Evolution, and example can be found there. When it was a topic of debate an oft heard criticism of the theory of evolution was that it was 'just a theory' which was a bit cringe to hear if one understands that the scientific usage of the term theory is closer to 'the entire body of knowledge of this phenomenon' and what people not would commonly think it means is actually much closer to the term 'hypothesis' - a proposed but as yet hasn't passed sufficient testing explanation for xyz. Do I think the human body has changed over the last 50 years in regards to athletic performance.  Yes.  What can you attribute it to though?  Better drugs?  Better training?  Starting younger?  Genetics from parents?  The ability to not be faded?

I'm currently suffering from insomnia  I now return you to your regular programming. welcome to my world.  Tart cherry juice and some gaba has helped immensely.  Not a fan of melatonin as its an endogenous hormone in the body.  Its capable of turning you into a mass freak...more than bio-identical TRT

I realise it's splitting hairs of course but hey, would y'all rather I post about brian wearing female panties? can you claim to wear it better?

I do 4 - 6 oz with my last meal.  Allegedly it helps your produce more melatonin.  I get the pure kind...none of the 'from concentrate' stuff
