ive been doing some german volume training.. 10 sets/10 reps.. 1 exercise per muscle group.. keeping it simple

Snatch pull - 1x3 7x2
Barbell rows with fat grips - 3x6
Zottman curls - 8,8,8
1 leg calf raise - 3x15
Sandbag lift to chest - 32222

Weather getting warm and can do some things in the garage like sandbag.
Haven't done sandbag since last November.

It took 2 hours to do 17 sets?

I spent half an hour warming up, stretches and many sets of lighter pulldowns to thoroughly ready the back then 2hrs each set to the max with plenty of recovery between sets, I like the intense pump to subside before going again, I don't chase the pump when training back, I want the muscle to perform optimally.

How's it working?

Ever tried "100's"? Its supposed to be similar.  1 exercise,  1 set, 100 reps... but you use a decent weight and use rest-pause throughout. So maybe you knockout 20 reps, can't really do much more , don't put the weight down,  but pause for a few seconds then knockout 10-15 more and repeat until your only doing 10, then 8, then 5, but go in this fashion until you complete 100 reps.

I did this once with an arm workout and couldn't lift my arms for a week. I never had such deep and persistent muscle soreness.
