I’m not a lawyer or in the medical field, but SC and Krank’s post reminded me of my brother.
I’ve been doing Ecom since 2010 and I make about a couple hundred grand a year on average in that time from home in a low to mid cost of living area as I moved from the NYC/LI area.
My brother isn’t lazy as Bhank, but his work is a government job.
He saw some YT video and that over simplified what I do for a living and he jumped in and failed at it.
I warned him just like everyone is speaking factually why it is a bad idea now, but my brother didn’t listen and had to face reality eventually.
Just like Bhank he was enamored with the idea of what he was doing and not seeing the sacrifice needed to actually become successful.
Having to skip the gym on days because a practical was the next day or two. Studying on weekends when other friends were out having cookouts. The stress of just sitting through an exam itself.
One neuro-anatomy class had THREE tests for the whole class. Two of which were 25 pts, the third was 50pts. You don't do adequate on the first one, you're fucked. One of the hardest was my part 4 national board radiology practical. Go to one room, look at films, choose all of the findings. Next station, go and answer all of the conditions associated with it. One guy walked out after 10 stations. He drove from Denver to take the exam. Yeah, thats something you can just study for 2 weeks and get through.
