Shawn Rhoden said a company dropped him just before an Olympia, because they didn't want to match the prize money he was likely to [and ultimately did] get. That was before he signed with Ronnie Coleman.
Since
Lunsford is using Synthol in such an obvious fashion, we can assume he's like Nick Walker, in that both of them are maxing out everything [IMO]. Gear, food, proper bodybuilding-style [hypertrophy] training, etc. Everything.
I feel many top pros don't remotely care about their health or lifespan.
As to how much the gear costs - didn't gh15 say that some bodybuilders use $60,000 per year just on growth hormone? 😳 I think he said it was around that.
In
Jay Cutler's "Living Large" video [YouTube], he said he spends $100,000 per year on massages, and $100,000 on [I believe] food.
The numbers were crazy. 😐 I'm not sure how he would be paying $274/day on massages. In Canada, it was $90/hour when I used to get them, so is Jay getting three hours of massages daily?

The $100,000 food bill may include feeding assistants, Dave Bourlet, and others.
I remember
Kai Greene saying he had no money, because he invested it all on himself. Kai spent $90 on his grapefruit breakfast in that one video, and I believe he was paying Oscar Ardon 50% of his prize money, before they parted ways, which is ludicrous. Oscar was ripping him off there, IMO.
Conclusion: bodybuilding is expensive.
