Looking at various Youtube comments left at stations doing heavy coverage of the debate, I'm seeing the following -

a) Lots couldn't be bothered with it.
b) Sentiment is at least 70+ percent that Desantis won it.
c) Very telling that the leftwing news outlets aren't celebrating Newsom. Very bland coverage from all of them.

Didn’t SEEM like there was a point to the debate as Desantis is done for 2024 and Newsom isn’t a candidate UNLESS…

Exactly. There’s no doubt at least in my mind that we have the most beautiful state with the arguably the best weather in the country and people are fleeing it and not just because of the taxes, people just don’t feel safe. DeSantis absolutely NAILED it as to the reason why our crime is up so much.

That said, Newsom did feel the sting from the sharp edges of the 3-inch heels on DeSantis' boots after the last comments made by Ron concerning the topic of sex change for children being allowed in California without parental consent.

DeSantis was telling this story of a California man who moved to Florida because of the covid restrictions, cost of living and crime was so high, etc…and he said that man was governor Newsome’s father in law.  lol

DeSantis is going nowhere electorally and he’ll likely drop out if he can’t pull out a miracle in Iowa. He’ll leave politics and get rich working in private equity but he’s been bitten by the bug so he’ll be back. He’ll be a wealthy man when he returns.

Newsom is as slick as they get. He was born for this. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t wind up president some day.
