I've never heard of it. Love detective shows like original Law and Order during the Jerry Orbach era, but not found any that impress me in the last 2 decades. Either too over the top, or too focused on the personal lives and drama rather than the various cases.

It's hard to find good straight across crime shows anymore. For many years I ran repeats of Homicide LOTS, NYPD Blue, the original Law and Order (it and LO: Criminal Intent were the only versions I liked). The Wire, The Night Of, and We Own This City were also good.

The First 48 is my go-to real life crime show here in the States.

The episode that aired on Friday was good, it had a strong smell of real True Detective. I am cautious, but I think the final episode will redeem the season if the writing is good.

Monsieur Spade was really good, although there was a tiny blip at the end that was ho-hum.

Sam Spade has retired to France, and is older and almost dying, but he takes on one last case that threatens his family. Clive Owen makes a great Noir actor, and it's beautifully shot. Story isn't bad either. Tom Fontana (Oz, Homicide, Copper, etc....) and Scott Frank (Get Shorty, Minority Report, etc....) helped script it.

It's mini-series too, so you're only in for 6 episodes if you don't dig it as much.

Saw a twisted Series on AppleTV. "Black Bird" all about killer Larry Hall (played by the fat guy on new Karate Kid).

Very twisted sick fukk. And James Keene, went undercover in criminally insane prison to get out of his other 10 year sentence for drugs/guns.

Not too long ago watched a show called Snowfall on Hulu that depicts the crack epidemic that devastated Los Angeles during the mid 80's. Many suggest that it's the true story of Ricky Donnell Ross AKA "Freeway Rick".

I thought the show was pretty damn good, but the ending (last episode) was a little lame. Still, definitely a good watch.

Both good movies.Cold Pursuit was remake already done by Norwegians.Seeing Odenkirk playing tough mofo instead of crooked lawyer in Better call Saul or Breaking Bad was unusual.

I have now seen most of the Oscar nominated movies.

American Fiction, Small Things, The Holdovers, Oppenheimer are all really good movies. Small Things being pretty fucked up in concept.

Past Lives sucked nuts. Only nominated due to being foreign.

Anatomy of a Fall was meh.
