If you were black you wouldn’t be thinking like a white person. I was in court in Austin at the time. When the verdict was being read all the courts shut down temporarily and the judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys and cops were brought into the lounge to watch it... when the verdict was announced, silence with some gasps.. Not one single judge, prosecutor and even more importantly, defense attorney thought they got it right. Utter astonishment. It was perplexing. The evidence was overwhelming and had it been any human that wasn't wealthy or famous, a guilty verdict regardless race would have been handed down. That's my first memory of realizing the system was broken. I'm sure many before me had already realized it. The Casey Anthony case just underscored the flaw in the system. Cancer was probably a good way for him to go.. heart attack wouldn't have been enough.
