No balance & proportion aren't outdated kid , neither is density & conditioning , neither is conditioned mass , Ronnie's shot just look at it a collection of parts and nothing more , outstanding biceps/triceps mediocre forearms poor balance & proportion in the entire arm complex , short torso , long legs coupled with gigantic quads and pathetic calves , lmfao glutes sticking out in the front for Christ's sake , round midsection with slight distention , a collection of parts

from an aesthetics & purely symmetrical standpoint Chris and Flex are both killing Ronnie in this shot , however Ronnie wins because he's bigger and better conditioned

I think the upward camera angle and the shadows flattening the triceps ruined that shot, to be fair.

In a couple of the recently-posted double biceps shots, Yates's arms look terrific.

Not quite as good as Coleman's but hey.

Dorian is handicapped by the fact that his arms are shorter than Coleman's (or they certainly appear to be) relative to his torso.

That would explain the lack of biceps peak in comparison to Coleman's arms.

Arnold touched upon this in Arnold: The Education of a Bodybuilder. He pointed out that, the longer your biceps from shoulder to elbow, the more you can make it roll up and flex and get bigger.

I think that's pretty much verbatim.

I myself don't put much stock in finnicky exercises like concentration curls, or supination curls, as far as 'shaping' or 'peaking' the bicep is concerned.

Strikes me as horseshit; how the fuck do you shape a muscle? All you can hope to do is change the proportions of your overall physique a little, by enlarging or reducing individual muscle groups.

If I happen to pick up a magazine (I don't buy them, fuckin' glorified product catalogues) and see a word like 'sculpt' or 'chisel' I sneer and turn the page.

Those are great words for thickheads who'll never get the BB basics if they live to be 100.

  Hulkster, Dorian's arms were 21", which is roughly what Ronnie had in 1999. Now, Ronnie in 2003 had 23"arms, but that is 2003. Also, no one is disputing thar Ronnie's delt tie-ins and separations between biceps, triceps, brachialis and delts are better than Dorian's. What you do seem to ignore is that Dorian's arms looked harder than Ronnie's kust like the rest of his physique. As for vascularity, I feel veins are ugly and the hallmark of the amateur bodybuilder. This is a matter of taste, and you taste sucks. Remember, also, that while Ronnie has bigger triceps overral than Dorian's, the latter's lateral side triceps head has more mass and that makes Dorian win the only mandatory where the triceps comes into play. So how does Ronnie's bigger triceps work in his favor if the head that counts in the sole mandatory designed to show the triceps is actually smaller than Dorian's?
