For example, 2002 when Ronnie was booed and fans were calling him to be in 5th place. Also, 2007, fans were very upset with Cutler's win. Yet why not with Yates? and saw the famous Yates vs. Coleman debate.
They interviewed 4 pros as who was their best at 100%.

I've always said that it's too hard to compare athletes of different eras;
(Then he names a few Mr. Olympias including Dorian.)
Still, it's hard to imagine that anybody who's ever stepped on a bodybuilding stage
could have beaten Coleman.
So I reserve the right to change my mind on this one. No offense to the rest of the champs-
you were/are all truly amazing physique athletes-but Coleman has really taken it to the next

for the same reasons that people like Markus Ruhl and Mike Matarazzo (who typically do not place that well at pro events) get the loudest cheers:

many fans really don't care about the quality of a physique - they just want beef. No matter how unrefined, or low quality that beef is. Most fans just care about mass. Problem is, bodybuilding is supposed to be about alot more than simply mass.

Actually, no. What you are saying is true in the regard that people like freaks like Ruhl/Matarazo, but they realize they lack the quality to win. As well, your theory also doesn't hold up because in 2002 eventhough Coleman outmassed Levrone he lacked his usual quality. Levrone was superior and even the crowd thought Gunther should have placed higher than Ronnie. Mr. Olympia was booed off the stage that night. Dorian was heralded like a king after winning in 1994.

Although Coleman's forearms could look bigger in the front double
bicep pose I think it is a testament to how big his upper arms are than
to any weakness in his forearms. His forearms, attested to by these pics
are up there with the best...not the best, but very good by any standard.

I did notice in the pic that Yates head is way bigger than Ronnie's and his arms
are about the same size or bigger. I don't think they did the greatest of scale jobs.
This is my opinion but I think if you asked pros or fans the polls would
weigh 75% in Ronnie's favor. I base this on everything I've read in magazines and
the internet over the years. Even if the polling were correct it wouldn't neccesarily make it
true. For yourself and others, Yates is better no matter what a poll says and vice versa.
It is a subjective sport and (perception for the most part is reality)
that's why there will never be a definite answer to this debate
and we have over a 1600 page thread.
