I wasn't alive during Nixon's era, but from what I've read he made strong, bold moves with a lasting impact. He opened diplomatic relations with China and moved the US off the gold standard. Watergate left a huge stain on his legacy, but I find him the most interesting of American presidents post WW2.

Even for the average person, it does not matter who is president. Most people remain in their financial bracket no matter who is president.
