Great having getbig back, inclusive of all the previous thread history (excl. a couple of recent months) dating back to the circa 2006 era, as I often randomly read & enjoy old threads and battles

Had the same throught actually, but - despite individual subs being user-moderated - I am thinking broader oversight would likely prove an issue before long given some of the content that gets posted here, especially given reddit is now a public company. GB would lose a key part of what makes it the place it is

Thanks for getting Getbig back up Ron. I know how challenging it is to keep up to date with backups. I spent a few years doing IT related word. Hard drives will fail. When the site was down I wondered if Getbig could live on Reddit...

The sticky wicket is the "bullying" cause that Reddit has. Over the break someone tried to restart a Blaha subreddit, and Blaha had it taken down in like 10 days. I've seen others for lolcows that were hidden only last a few months too.

When Getbig was down, the Maintenance page said it would be back and restored and some news would be announced?  Was it the news as to what exactly happened and why the site went down and the (amazing) efforts and work to bring it back up?  Thank you Ron and any and all who helped doing that, very Great News indeed!

But for some reason when I read it during the long lonely month, I thought it might be something unrelated to that, something more gossipy.  Just checking there wasn't something more I missed.
