Sure, but I suspect that's not trumps logic, its incredibly drastic (has it been done before for this reason?).

i realize Chicago is near the top of the list, I suspect it was chosen based on its politics though. I guess we will see if he does this and what cities he targets. If I am right then there is a slippery slope.

I have no doubt Chicago's politics affected this.

However, I do think SOMETHING has to be done.  So, if you have a city with big numbers (not per capita) near the top of the list, coupled with a shitty loud mouthed mayor whose approval ratings are in the tank who you can embarrass, why not start there?  Politics exists, for better or worse.

The only other way I might do it is to send in the guard in partnership with a red state governor, have crime rates drop, and then say "see you blue dipshits, it works".

But that's not my choice to make, so Chicago it is.

It is no surprise that you love Trump's trolling and ignore how inappropriate it is for someone in his position. Trolling is attention-seeking behavior. Trump is a person who intentionally causes trouble, spreads negativity, and takes pleasure from causing other folks’ distress. His trolling is childish behavior. Good leadership is serious adult business. You admire a clown who is not a leader and never will be ::)

He does it to wind up Loony Leftist Libturds & it works every time 😂🤣😂

per capita there are a lot of cities higher then Chicago.

Regardless this method isn't scalable, hasn't been shown to lead to meaningful reduction long term, causes huge impacts across multiple markers and is quite costly. It also opens up weaponizing the military and I am shocked that small government right wingers want the federal government stepping in, in any capacity.

Which specific cities have the highest crime rates?

Which specific cities have the highest crime rates?

Per capita its several Alabama cities, Alaska and Arizona.

For violent crime totals it appears to be houston, stockton, nashville, rockford, tacoma

Anchorage is rape

Ya thats the highest violent crime cities per capita. For overall crime its heavily red leaning. Property theft, B and E etc..

My point is that I suspect this is politically motivated and there are equally (perhaps better) reasonable targets with higher crime rates.

I would also suspect one should base it on the direction of crime rates, are they decreasing, increasing etc.

I will say grape ape has swayed me a little on this tbf

The cities run by Democrat mayors are the problem.  But politicians are being intellectually dishonest by citing red "states," rather than the the cities, where mayors have a much greater impact on crime than governors.  What the facts show is a disproportionate number of cities run by Democrats are infested with crime.

I don't believe that is true if you are talking about overall crime though.

I would have to look through it in more detail.

I think most people are referring to violent crime when they cite these statistics.

Yeah not surprising.  Thanks.

I have a former employee who moved from Hawaii to San Francisco a couple years ago.  She and her husband are both Democrats.  After they got settled she and her husband were shocked at how bad the crime and homelessness is.  She actually said her husband and she agreed that this would not be a problem if they were in a red city.  Now that is when reality really hits you in the face.

I wouldn't and didn't think that is what people were referring to. However, I would venture its more impactful, violent crime that is.

Regardless I think its a silly idea.

Getting rid of crime is something that should be a bipartisan endeavor.

But the correction pendulum swung too far when the bail reform hit, crimes stopped getting prosecuted, defund the police, etc..........and thus we are now divided.

No democrat will dare partner with Trump, so we may be stuck for awhile.

According to 2024 FBI data these were the cities with  the highest crime rates.
Memphis, Tennessee – red  state – red city – mayor is Democratic
Detroit, Michigan – purple state – blue city – mayor is Unaffiliated
Baltimore, Maryland – blue state – blue city –  mayor is Democratic
St. Louis, Missouri – red state – blue city --  mayor is Democratic
Jackson, Mississippi – red state – battle ground – mayor is Democratic
New Orleans, Louisiana – red state – blue city – mayor is Democratic
Cleveland, Ohio – red state – blue city – mayor is Democratic

In January 2025, sixty-five of the 100 largest cities had Democratic mayors and twenty-five of the 100 largest cities had Republican mayors.

You moved the goal posts, (criterion). What you originally asked was,
Which specific cities have the highest crime rates?

You did not ask about either the state or city political leanings, or which party the mayor of the city is affiliated with. Also, mayoral races may be either partisan or non-partisan. Will this be your next question, (deflection)?

He wasn't deflecting.  He was continuing the conversation.

The cities that are in the shit are mostly run by democrats.

And it's not surprising to any thinking person.

This is moronic, your rationale is the crime is out of control thus you need to sed the military in lolol
I stopped reading here, I assume the rest of your post is stupid as fuck. Yes, if the local government has lost control of criminals, is incapable of controlling the criminal population or complicate in the criminal element, then the feds should step in and take control to knock the criminal aspect down. Once they leave it's up to the local government to maintain the peace and control that was established. If your local government cannot stop or control the criminal element, then maybe they should be replaced with people that take control of criminals.

This is moronic, your rationale is the crime is out of control thus you need to sed the military in lolol OK how about the fact that the most crime ridden cites are red and in particular the increase in rate is higer? if this was because of crime wouldn;t you logically start with the most dangerous cities and states or at least ones with increasing crime rates at the highest percentile?

Also, how the fuck will this lower crime? in the short term, maybe, who knows. In the long term what benefit would this temporary retarded action have?

I love how you conflate arguing against sending the military in to a city that doesn't want it when the logic of why its being done doesnt check out and the person doing it is a vindictive little manchild.

Just go along with daddy lil boy. You will do what trump says and defend him till the end. You are happy to unleash the government on fellow citizens if they think differently than you, typical narc behaviour.

Enjoy the mcarthyism/isolationism

'thus you need to sed the military in'   🤡
