I was gonna make a thread on this but thought I should search through the front page to see if it was already covered.

I read about it on The Ring website.  No details. Im assuming a drug overdose.  The only detail leaked out was that it wasn't a suspicious death.

I was never a huge fan of Hattons but he certainly gave it his all. Feel sad for his family. He really struggled after retirement.  Not money wise but trying to figure out who and what he was without boxing. Went through depression and alcohol addiction.

RIP, Hitman you earned it.

Sad / bad news - he was a great boxer.

All that money & fame - yet deeply depressed & it appears it got

He was a very heavy drinker most of his life. That almost always seems to lead to some kind of depression. I think he even talked about being suicidal in interviews.

I followed Ricky early on because a good friend of mine from across the pond told me about him.

He was a really good fighter, we never really saw his best I think.

Ricky was always a last minute fight prep guy.

I remember rooting for him against Mayweather and the crazy chanting of his followers at the event. It was cool to see people chant non stop for him the entire fight.

He was a heck of a fighter.  At 140, he was an absolute menace.  Too bad he ran into the apex of Manny Pac.  I never once felt cheated watching Ricky Hatton fight.  RIP.
