It's not trumps fault directly, but indirectly. He hired the guy, its a man who donates the party and lives next store to him and he lied about not knowing him after his slip up was flamed about picking the contractor on a no bid contract. The guy is a fraud and highlights trumps corruption and incompetence. Everything he does is a failure and it's actually incredibly amusing.

Yes, Trump hired this company to do the work and the reasons for choosing them seems be dubious, but I still don't see this being his fault. However, by blaming "vandals" for the failure he has managed to make himself look like an idiot. As per usual, Trump proved himself to be his own worst enemy.
I have a lot of experience working with contractors, almost all of these have been positive. Except one time, when last year I hired a painting contractor to paint the exterior of my home and some interior rooms. As I always do, I carefully vetted him and his company before contacting him for an estimate and subsequently to do the job. His employees did extremely sloppy work. The day following the completion of the job I called him on the numerous holidays and paint spills. He was extremely defensive and offered some absolutely dumb excuses. His crew tracked black paint throughout the downstairs on the wood floors. Since nothing was being painted black and there was a large spot of it on the driveway, I assume it spilled from one of their trucks. I do not believe I was responsible for this fiasco.
