Another day, another criminal Democrat lawmaker arrested. Former Democrat New York State Assembly member Ari Espinal was arrested and charged with grand larceny after allegedly stealing $33,245 from the labor union PAC that employed her.
⠀
Espinal, who served only eight months in the Assembly in 2018 representing a Queens district, worked as political and policy coordinator for the Mason Tenders’ District Council PAC.
⠀
Prosecutors allege she made unauthorized purchases between November 20, 2024 and December 17, 2025 using an American Express card meant solely for business use.
⠀
She was arraigned on October 7, pleaded not guilty, and is due back in court on December 10.
⠀
The union fired her more than a month before prosecutors brought the charge.
⠀
Espinal remains active in New York politics despite her brief time in office.
⠀
The Mason Tenders’ District Council represents thousands of construction workers across New York.
