Isn’t the pointing pose a way for the pointee to flex their arm muscles without looking like they are flexing? I would say it’s a more advanced version of the thumbs up.
I think it’s showing the recipient of the point and the pointer are in the know. The pointee is declaring the bodybuilder is the cock of the walk and is better than everyone else. The pointer pose also conveys the message that the pointer and the pointee are the only 2 people aware of the greatness in the photo. Meaning the pointer makes himself appear to be wise, as they are showing that they have the keen sense to recognize how great the pointee is. And the pointer is also making the statement that the pointee is the top dog, and better than everyone else. Why else would they take the time to pose in a photo with them if they weren’t?!
