The US funds the UN more than anyone else. After that it is China, Japan, and then a bunch of European countries. So, if the UN actually pays for something like this then it is effectively our tax dollars going to it.

It sounds ludicrous. But paying for people's sex change operations was actually a mainstream argument not that long ago.
