Lee has stated repeatedly that he will.

perhaps if he wins, it will pave the way for a dozen other guys to do both PDI and IFBB shows.  Especially for the Euro guys, who could compete in their own backyards and make a little change, where they usually finish out of the $ at ifbb shows.

I hope he does that if thats the case. The IFBB only have THEMSELVES to blame as they have continuously fucked up and sacrificed top class BBers for the sake of a fat man with no calves. OK Ronnie is the best guy out there, but allowing him to dominate with such a distended stomach has set a standard which the aesthetic guys are fed up with. The mandate didnt exactly do anything except make Ruhl look shitty. It was like he was told to go to a fancy dress party in a costume onlt to find out he was the only one that did.

Is there any kind of legal agreement between pro's and the IFBB?
Since the IFBB is a private company that have no legal obligations to the pro's I see no legal base for his suit.Just Lee trying to get rich off uncle Weider.

What will be his legal base? I went to the competition so this PRIVATE owned business didn't liked me helping the competition. So they used their freedom to not allow me to compete at their privately owned and paid competitions.....yeah... .that sounds good... ::)

Weider will come to court with a dozen lawyers ,each worth Lee's whole life savings. It hopless actions by a hopeless man.

Here is an idea.  Get the AAU to sanction the NOC.

from the 1982 settlement between the NPC and the AAU:

Quote
...and James Manion agree to continue their state policy of not imposing any sanctions upon or otherwise penalizing or punishing or threatening to impose any sanctions upon (or otherwise penalizing or interfering in any way with any persons on account of that persons' participation in any physique contest sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States, Inc.)

just a thought.

Why would anyone sue the IFBB?

Remember, they're a "non-profit organization".    ::)

(although a lawsuit would be somewhat interesting in that someone might actually learn the answer to the question of where all the money goes)

IFBB WANNA B you once again show that your an idiot.Enough said. You post will just be ignored you can't show a pic or use your real name so don't waste our time and yours.

The IFBB or NPC having to open it's books would be the end of it all and they know that.

You guys are missing the big picture here.

You guys talk about having the ability to do both the PDI & IFBB so they can make a little more money. If the IFBB does allow PDI guys to compete do you really think they will be placed high enough to make money?

I am a Pro PDI guy but lets be realistic here.....

2 words for ya..."Black Balled"!!!!!!

Once the legal system becomes involved, the IFBB is up shit creek.  It's easy for the atheltes rep to say "the ifbb will fight for its right to compete"... it's another thing when money does some strange things...

And they cannot blackball everybody.  If they knock lee down 5 spaces, they're going to look like they're scared of the PDI.  And once ten, twenty guys go - are they going to knock EVERYBODY down?  LOL... or will they give a pelletier 1st place for his loyalty and everyone else 8th?  I'm sure some of our history buffs can think of some examples of a guy blazing a new trail, getting all these threats, then 2 years later, everyone does it and all is forgotten... too early for me to think that much tho!

Good Point but I still think my thought is that of the IFBB..

There is enough talent  to fill these guys places,

we blackball Lee and push Phil Heath

We blackball X, we push Luke Wood

We blackball Y, we push David Henry

and the list continues

Best example is Aaron Baker.....IMO one of the most looked over guys out there, after the WBF guy never had a chance.

Wow a great reply that showed once again that you arent the brightest fellow out there. What does me not posting a picture since I dont like stalkers in a gay site like this having them go to do with you trying to get rich off the IFBB?

First I doubt they will have to open the books since your case wont make it to court.
Second,Im sure thier books are fine. They are "abit" more inteligent then you.You make it sound as if they are doing something illegal by arranging BB shows... ::)

After word gets around that Lee's first-place check from the Night of Champions bounced, we will hear no more talk of IFBB pros defecting.

As for Lee's punishment: the IFBB, despite having an essentially iron-clad contractual justification for banning him, may decide to save the legal fees and simply pass on some "unofficial judging criteria" - i.e. deduct points for large forearms, height below 5' 6", Australian accents...

Jackie Robinson and Curt Flood come to mind. Very brave stances that came with staggerigly high personal costs, especially for Jackie.  :'(

There are many who feel that he got shafted in 1995, after two very close losses to a sub-par Flex Wheeler. What I don't understand is, if there were any blackballing, why Baker would be a victim of it. Unlike many of the WBF guys, the "Dark Angel" never competed in the IFBB prior to joining the WBF. The same goes for Jim Quinn and Troy Zuccolotto.

Very true. Quinn won the North Americans which is an IFBB show (first true mass monster in my opinion)

Either way they had their Pro Cards and were blackballed!

Baker didn't get "blackballed" ...he got a shit decision IMO, apparently the judges decision was different.

If they really wanted to screw him, or blackball him...they would've placed him 10th or 15th, not been comparing him against Flex for the win.

Yep - I'd be interested in seeing what the feds would come up with if they decided to track that little money trail into Canada.

I doubt the feds will find anything.Remember that Weider made his money mostly of the magazines.
The IFBB as an organization dosent make that much. Some pro's and show fee's with a few sponsers.

You guys make it sound as if the IFBB is Al Qaida or something. This shit wont make it to court,a judge will hopefuly kick this shity case out.

See now this is where you don't know much.  The IFBB is raking in $600,000+ a year.  From santion fees, member dues, clothing sales etc. They get close to $400,000 just for the Olympia (at east that what Wayne was paying them).  If the IRS went in and did a deep audit there would be problems.  I had dinner back in 2001 with 3 guys who at the time knew EVERYTHING about the IFBB, Manion and Weiders.  They have been with the IFBB and NPC since day one.  The stories they were telling were incredible.  Of course I was eating so most of it I only caught parts of.  But when you start adding up all the shows they sanction worldwide and the unreported clothing sales it adds up.  And this is tax-free which it equates to over a million dollars.

600K is big money to you? Weider have made milions and milions from his magazines.
And you forgot another fact,Lee case will be discrimination. There will be no legal right to touch thier books because of that trial.

You cant go to court and say..yeah...because I was at the PDI Im getting fucked...ohh and BTW they dont pay tax...dosent work that way.
